Manchester City join the race along with Real Madrid for Premier League star

Chelsea could be in trouble as Manchester City have joined Real Madrid, PSG and even Barcelona in the race for their Belgium star.

The Blues have been a part of their fair share of transfer rumors but none more than the rumors that have linked their Belgium star away from the club. However, the 27-year-old has been in fine form for the Blues and has been a key part of their team since his arrival from LOSC Lille in 2012. However, now it looks like Chelsea are finally going to lose Eden Hazard with rumors of every big European club after the forward.

Chelsea has failed to agree to a contract renewal with Hazard and he has just two years left on his current existing deal, once the summer window arrives. However, according to reports from the Mirror while Real Madrid, PSG, and even Barcelona are very interested in the Belgian’s services, it looks like Manchester City have joined the race as well. Pep Guardiola is reportedly very interested in the 27-year-old and has made Eden Hazard his top transfer target for the summer window.

The Belgian has recently said in an interview with Goal, that he is happy at the club and he even had to tell his father off for suggesting that he(Eden Hazard) is waiting for an offer from Real Madrid which is why he hasn’t resigned with the Premier League champions yet. “My dad says some bad things. Yes. I talked with him [to tell him off], no, no worries. I’m focused on Chelsea.

I’ve got two years contract left and I’m happy here. Like I said 10 times before, I want to finish this year and then we’ll see. But I’m happy here.”

With Real Madrid very, very interested in him especially with five-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo turning a corner, both Zinedine Zidane, and Real Madrid see Hazard as one of the closest like-for-like replacements for the 32-year-old alongside Neymar and Marco Asensio.

Author’s take:

The Los Blancos are looking to a complete re-swap of their entire front line and have thus targeted the likes of Mauro Icardi, Harry Kane, Eden Hazard, Neymar, and even goalkeeper David De Gea as Florentino Perez looks to create his next line of Galacticos. However, now with Manchester City and their immense reserves of oil money, the La Liga side face a tough fight for the Chelsea star, which could go either way.
