Ceballos has piqued the German’s interest, with the player responding favourably. Don Balon reports that the midfielder that the midfielder has his heart set on playing under Klopp.

Dani Ceballos was the man of the tournament at the Under 21 World Cup

He also sees himself playing more regularly at Anfield. With the World Cup just a few months, game time has become the player’s priority. He wants to do anything he can to maximise his chances of making it to Russia in the summer.

Author’s Take

This will not go down with either Zidane or the Madrid board. Ceballos was brought in after a tussle with Barcelona in the summer and seeing him leave just six months into his six-year-long contract will be a disheartening sight.

However, the news should be taken with a pinch of salt. While the move does make sense, Ceballos has been known to be headstrong with his decision. The youngster has talent plenty and will certainly get his chances to prove the same under Zidane. He just needs to bide his time to make a big splash at the most successful club in European history.
