Author’s Take
This will not go down with either Zidane or the Madrid board. Ceballos was brought in after a tussle with Barcelona in the summer and seeing him leave just six months into his six-year-long contract will be a disheartening sight.
However, the news should be taken with a pinch of salt. While the move does make sense, Ceballos has been known to be headstrong with his decision. The youngster has talent plenty and will certainly get his chances to prove the same under Zidane. He just needs to bide his time to make a big splash at the most successful club in European history.
