South Africa pacer Dale Steyn has been ruled out of the first Test against India, owing to injury.
The build up to India’s tour of South Africa has been perfect. The first Test will be start in 3 days time. The only thing that both the teams want right now is the fitness of their star players.
Faf du Plessis and Dale Steyn missed the lone test against Zimbabwe as they were not 100% fit and were needed for the series against India. India also have a casualty in Dhawan who will be missing the first Test.
While Faf is ready to play the first Test, South Africa have been dealt with a blow to their premier fast bowler Dale Steyn.
Steyn was expected to be fully fit to play against India. He was seen practicing in the nets as well.
Now, all of a sudden, some shocking reports have come out. According to these reports, Dale Steyn is not likely to be in the XI for the first Test starting 5 January 2018.

This will be a serious blow to the bowling attack of South Africa. Some Indian batsmen like Rohit Sharma and Cheteshwar Pujara, who have stated earlier that Steyn was the most difficult bowler to face, might be having a sigh of relief.
AUTHOR’S TAKE:
South Africa will have to take care of their premier fast bowlers and ensure they stay fit for the series against India. The touring team will not be giving anything easily to them and are capable of pouncing on the slightest of opportunities given to them.
