Spanish football expert Guillem Balague believes that Antoine Griezmann’s destination has already been decided.
Antoine Greizmann certainly looked at the exit door from his current club Atletico Madrid at the end of last year. However, the destination at that time was at Old Trafford, the theatre of dreams. As per the latest revelations, however, it seems like the left-footed player has changed his mind to join fellow Spanish club FC Barcelona.
Atletico’s ban last year meant that they could not cash in on the French international. This year, the club based out of Madrid are surely looking to cash in on the French winger. Rumours about his future are strongly pointing in the direction of the Catalan capital, where he will join alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez.
Recent reports suggested that Atletico has reported the La Liga leaders to FIFA for the illegal approach for Antoine Griezmann, with the Catalan giants desperately chasing after Antoine Griezmann. With the club still looking for a more lethal replacement for Neymar, compared to Ousmane Dembele, they’ve turned their sights towards the forward.

Spanish football expert Guillem Balague Believes Barcelona remain as the firm favorites to sign the 26-year-old. “It’s very close. If he hasn’t been signed it’s because he cannot be signed but they’re very close to agreeing to personal terms with Griezmann,” Balague told Sky Sports podcast ‘Transfer talk’.

However, in the past summer, Antoine Griezmann almost accepted a deal from the English giants Manchester United to join as No.7 in Jose Mourinho’s unit. The Frenchman, however, did not make the switch due to the situation endured by his club Atletico. “Out of those two teams, it sounds like Barcelona are favorites, but we’ll see how it goes,” concluded the La Liga expert.

It is an eye-watering aspect to see Barcelona play a trio of Luis Suarez, Lionel Messi, and Antoine Greizmann upfront. It would be next to the MSN trio that has had its place in the history books of the club. However, the playing style would vary with the new trio, as they would be more open to giving each other the required space to score.
Barcelona might also be tempted to play the Argentine international Lionel Messi at the midfield, to a potent front trio of Suarez- Greizmann and Dembele which is more dynamic. The reports are surely pointing at the direction of Camp Nou, and the Frenchman has also acknowledged it from time to time.
