Manchester United are the biggest club in England. They have the history, the squad, the resources and the fanbase that makes a great football club. Over the years, the Manchester United brand has grown as United have produced unforgettable moments for fans and neutrals alike. We shall look at some Manchester United moments that have surprised us very recently.

They have dealt with giants like Liverpool, Arsenal, and Chelsea in their time but it has always been Manchester United’s time. Some fragments of those time are part of history today. We go back memory lane for the same.

10 Cristiano Ronaldo’s debut

Manchester United were cruising against Bolton and Ferguson decided to introduce the Portuguese as a substitute for Nicky Butt. Ronaldo showed great skill in that game and the response from the crowd was enough to tell us that a very special young boy is playing. He had to wait till November to score his first EPL goal.

9 That speech by Fergie at Old Trafford

It was the day he left Old Trafford. Sir Alex Ferguson bid goodbye to a teary sold out crowd in Manchester. Time stood still as the greatest personality in English football left his home.

8 Ryan Giggs’ FA Cup goal versus Arsenal

Ryan Giggs destroying teams at will is something that United fans never got tired watching. This was one of his greatest moments. The Welshman’s name was written in the United history books on that particular day. To this day, he remains one of the most respected people at Carrington.

7  The 2007 Premier League title

Manchester United’s greatest foe in the early 2000s was Arsenal. The rise of a new force indicted a shift of power to London. But United did what they always do- they got the job done. Fergie’s boys took on Chelsea and won the League by six points. Ronaldo was the player of the year.

6 That volley by Rooney

Wayne Rooney is a big game player. And he showed that. He scored the goal that decided the title race. As Manchester City were on the rise, United looked to end their rapid growth and Rooney nailed a scorcher past Joe Hart.

5 Jose Mourinho’s appointment

This may look too high up the list- but the significance of this is too much. United needed an able successor to Sir Alex Ferguson and none of David Moyes, Ryan Giggs and Louis van Gaal stood up to the task. Jose Mourinho has made the team look a lot more like their old self and his appointment may become one of the biggest moments in all of Manchester United’s history.

4 Winning the league in 2011

See how I wrote, “Manchester United are the biggest club in England.”? This where that sentence is justified. The Red Devils Won their 19th league title and overtook Liverpool. The Golden boot was shared by Dimitar Berbatov and Carlos Tevez.

3 Winning the Champions’ League final in 2008

United overpowered Chelsea yet again to win the Champions’ League back in the day when the English teams were the big shots in Europe. The Red Devils won the title through a shootout in Moscow and Fergie lifted his second European title.

2 Sir Alex’s appointment

The United guarantee became a thing after this. This is what revolutionized English football and turned United into giants of the game. Fergie put pen to paper on the 6th of November, 1986 and the rest, indeed, is history.

1 Winning the treble

The Premier League, the FA Cup and the Champions’ League- United conquered the world of football in the 1998-99 season. To this day, stories of the exploits of Dwight Yorke, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, and Teddy Sheringham are what keep United fans full of hope that their team will rise once again.
