Must have Players for Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 18

The @FPLGeneral looks at the top 5 must-have players for your lineups for Fantasy Premier League GW18. This classification is based on their performance during the previous matches this season.

Eden Hazard

Fixture: Chelsea vs Southampton (Saturday 15.00)

The Belgian has blanked in his last two games but patience is key with him in fantasy Premier League. He didn’t return any attacking points against Huddersfield in GW17 but he was impressive again. He created plenty of chances which should have been converted by his team mates. Antonio Conte took him off after 68 minutes ahead of this weekend’s home tie against Southampton. I expect to see him back amongst the goals against the Saints who shipped four at home to Leicester on Wednesday night.

Andreas Christensen

Fixture: Chelsea vs Southampton (Saturday 15.00)

The Dane has been excellent at the heart of the Chelsea defence this season. He registered his 5th clean sheet of the season in midweek having been substituted before Huddersfield scored a late consolation.  He hasn’t scored yet this season but he does look a threat from set pieces. If the Blues can keep Charlie Austin quiet in GW18 they are likely to register another clean sheet.

Alexis Sanchez

Fixture: Arsenal vs Newcastle (Saturday 15.00)

On paper, Alexis Sanchez at home to an out of sorts Newcastle side looks pretty good. The Magpies have lost their last three matches while Sanchez has registered more goal attempts (15) than any other midfielder over the past 4 gameweeks (FFScout). Is he about to explode? He’ll be in my Sportito XI this weekend. The best thing about playing daily fantasy football on Sportito is not having to worry about budget restrictions.

David De Gea

Fixture: West Brom vs Manchester United (Sunday 14.15)

Manchester United have kept 10 clean sheets in 17 Premier League matches this season. De Gea is the best goalkeeper in the world in my opinion and he’s a great option in FPL. United have a great run of fixtures coming up where they don’t face any of the top 6 sides (apart from Burnley) until January 31st. There’s more clean sheet points on the way especially now that Phil Jones is fit again until he’s injured again.

Mohamed Salah

Fixture: Bournemouth vs Liverpool (Sunday 16.30)

The Egyptian had produced attacking returns in eight consecutive gameweek’s before his blank against West Bom in midweek. He remains a must-have though, if he starts against the Cherries I expect him to do damage.
