Rio Ferdinand has said one Arsenal star has ‘huge potential’ after breaking a club record on Sunday against Everton.
Mikel Arteta’s side managed to end the season on a high with a 2-1 win at the Emirates Stadium against the Toffees, with Manchester City winning the Premier League title with their own victory against West Ham.

With the likes of Jurrien Timber returning to action, it was a jubilant day in north London despite Arsenal ultimately losing out on the title to Pep Guardiola’s side in Manchester.
And Ferdinand was impressed with one Arsenal player who made history.
Rio Ferdinand lauds William Saliba after setting impressive Arsenal record
Speaking on Vibe with Five, the former Manchester United defender was full of praise for William Saliba, who yesterday became the first outfield Arsenal player in the Premier League era to play every single league minute.
The 23-year-old centre-back has been one of the best defenders in the league this season with Saliba playing a key role in Arsenal keeping the most clean sheets out of any side in the division.

And this year has seen the France international take his game to a whole new level, with Saliba arguably already in the world-class bracket of defenders despite this being just his second year in the Premier League.
Ferdinand said: “Saliba, by the way, the only outfield Arsenal player in Premier League history to go the full season playing every game and every minute. Top player, he’s got huge, huge potential, I still think there’s levels for him to go. Him and Gabriel as a partnership, wow.”
Saliba stat shows how important he is to Arsenal’s long-term plans
Saliba’s injury last season was pinned by many as one of the many reasons Arsenal eventually went on to lose the Premier League title, and the defender’s record-breaking exploits show that there is some real truth to that theory.
Arsenal have been the best defensive side in the Premier League this season with Saliba again pushing the limits of what fans thought was possible from the former Saint-Etienne wonderkid.
And if the defender can stay fit next season, Saliba will again be key to Arsenal’s next title bid, which could go all the way and result in the Premier League being lifted at the Emirates Stadium.
