Paul Merson has now predicted who will win the Premier League after Arsenal’s 1-0 win against Manchester United.

The Gunners ensured that the title will go to the final game of the season with Arsenal claiming a big victory on the road at Old Trafford, with Manchester City also winning on the weekend away to Fulham.

With Pep Guardiola’s side taking on Tottenham on Tuesday, Arsenal fans will be hopeful that their north London rivals will be able to do them a favour, with a draw potentially enough to push the Gunners towards the Premier League title.

And Merson has now predicted who he thinks will win the Premier League title.

Manchester City still tipped to beat Arsenal to the Premier League

Speaking on Sky Sports, Merson has still tipped City to beat Arsenal to the Premier League, with the former Highbury star predicting the Manchester giants to win their last two games of the season.

With City on their longest unbeaten run in the club’s history, Arsenal might yet again fall short of the title due to Guardiola, and Merson seems content with the fact that this is likely what will happen come Sunday night.

Merson said: “After Arsenal’s defeat to Aston Villa at the Emirates, I said the title race was all over, and this hasn’t changed my mind. Manchester City just do what they do.

“Under pressure week in, week out, they do what they do. It is disheartening. I just don’t think we give City enough respect, they are a phenomenal football team, and Arsenal are probably going to finish second.”

Arsenal can be proud regardless of what happens this season

Most logical-thinking football fans would agree that City will go on to win the Premier League given the form their in and how historic it would be for the Manchester giants to win the title for a fourth year in a row.

Yet for Arsenal, losing the league on the last day of the season will not be viewed as a failure given how much the Gunners have improved throughout the campaign.

Records have been broken and the average age of the squad still remains one of the youngest in the Premier League, and Arsenal can be proud of what they’ve done this season regardless of what happens later this week.
