With three matches left this season for Mikel Arteta’s side, the pressure has never been more intense for Arsenal heading into fixtures against the likes of AFC Bournemouth and Manchester United, with Everton on the schedule for the final game of the campaign.

David Raya likened to Arsenal legend Jens Lehmann after Tottenham display

Taking to Twitter, Morgan compared David Raya with Arsenal icon Jens Lehmann after the Spanish international made a horrific error to get Tottenham back into the game in the second-half.

Morgan wrote after Raya’s mistake against Tottenham: “Another moment of madness by our goalkeeper. He reminds me of Lehmann, brilliant but bonkers.”

Indeed, Raya’s mistake was the first the on-loan Brentford goalkeeper has made in quite some time, with the shot-stopper currently the favourite for the Premier League Golden Glove award having emerged as the clear no. 1 for Arsenal.

Yet Raya’s error today against Tottenham will be one the former Blackburn Rovers star will want to forget quickly, with the 27-year-old having a minute of madness that has been very unlike the Arsenal keeper this season.

Raya has proved a lot of critics wrong this season since replacing fan-favourite Aaron Ramsdale between the sticks this season, with Arsenal supporters fully warmed to the Spanish international.

Yet with three games left to go, the same fans will be hopeful that Raya doesn’t have another mistake in his locker, with Arsenal needing to be perfect between now and the end of the season if they’re to have a chance at winning the league.
