Mikel Arteta urged to start £32m Arsenal ace vs Chelsea who was recently booed

Mikel Arteta has been urged to start one Arsenal player tonight against Chelsea despite recently being booed by supporters.

The Gunners welcome their London rivals this evening at the Emirates Stadium in what will be a must-win game for Arsenal, who on Saturday returned to winning ways with a 2-0 victory against Wolves having failed to win in the previous three games.

With five matches remaining this season, Arsenal will realistically have to win every remaining fixture if they’re to get their hands on the Premier League title, with a win tonight sending Arteta’s side four points clear of Manchester City in the standings.

And the Arsenal boss has now been urged to start a divisive figure against Chelsea.

Adrian Clarke suggests Arsenal should start Oleksandr Zinchenko vs Chelsea

Speaking on the Handbrake Off podcast, former Arsenal star Adrian Clarke made the suggestion that tonight’s game against Chelsea could be ideal for Oleksandr Zinchenko given how Mauricio Pochettino’s side are set up.

The Ukrainian international was recently booed at the Emirates Stadium after coming off against Aston Villa, yet even the harshest of Zinchenko’s critics would find it hard to disagree with the idea of the fullback playing tonight.

Indeed, Chelsea’s fragility at the back and toothless attack down the wing could allow Zinchenko to play his best game, and a case can be made for the defender staring despite recently being booed by Arsenal supporters.

Clarke said: “I think it might be a Zinchenko game. They’ve been using Cole Palmer as a no. 10 with Gallagher as a narrow right-winger, and if that’s the case, I’m eager to go with Zinchenko for this game. Palmer’s best work is coming infield anyway, so we can afford to play him in this game.”

Zinchenko can redeem himself tonight with a big performance

Zinchenko’s stock has fallen considerably this season with the former City star losing out on his regular starting spot at left-back to the likes of Jakub Kiwior and Takehiro Tomiyasu, with Jurrien Timber also in contention for the position.

Yet the defender can really redeem himself with Arsenal supporters with a big performance tonight against Chelsea, where a win for the Gunners could be massive in the race for the Premier League title.

As mentioned, the game today could suit Zinchenko to a tee given how much time and space the Ukrainian could have on the ball, and Chelsea could be in for a long night if the £32m Arsenal defender decides to turn up the heat.
