Arsenal have been urged to sign a Premier League striker likened to Thierry Henry who recently embarrassed north London rivals Tottenham.

A world-class centre-forward is high up on Arsenal’s list of transfer priorities this summer, with Mikel Arteta’s side yet to truly replace the quality of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang when the former captain was in his prime goalscoring form for the Gunners.

Whilst the likes of Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard have impressed in bursts this season, Arsenal are yet to really find that leading man who can be relied upon to start in every game, with Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketih failing to impress this season.

Yet one name has caught the eye this year in the Premier League amid current reports.

Speaking on TalkSport, pundit Darren Bent Urged Arsenal to move for Newcastle United star Alexander Isak this summer, with the Swedish international already heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium.

Whilst the forward himself has said he is happy in the northeast, Isak’s qualities make the Newcastle star a potentially perfect signing for the Gunners, with Bent going one step further and comparing the 24-year-old to Arsenal legend Thierry Henry.

The pundit said: “Again, I am not saying that they are the same, but the way he finishes, that side foot, is like Thierry, just caress it into the far corner. But yeah, if there was one centre-forward out there you said who should Arsenal buy, it’s him.”

Bent said when asked how much Arsenal should spend: “£80m-100m, and I would happily pay it. He can do everything. He can take the ball in tight spaces, he can create, he can even come off the left.”

With Isak scoring a brace on Saturday against Tottenham in a performance that truly embarrassed Arsenal’s rivals, there’s a lot to like about the Newcastle striker heading into the summer.

And whilst the forward seems comfortable at St. James’ Park, a lot can change when the transfer window is actually open, with Arsenal a team that can be very convincing given the immense potential of their project.

Given how long Arsenal have also been linked with Isak, the Swedish superstar could be tempted with a move to north London, especially if Newcastle find themselves in a position where they have to sell.
