Arsenal star makes Harry Kane claim as Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk sent warning

A round-up of the latest Arsenal news, with updates from Emirates Stadium on Declan Rice as Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk is sent a warning before this week’s London Derby.

Martin Odegaard hails ‘dangerous’ Arsenal target Antonio Nusa

Club Brugge prospect Antonio Nusa is a transfer target for Arsenal having enjoyed a sublime season so far. And his efforts on international duty in October have even drawn praise from Martin Odegaard. The Gunners captain adored the 18-year-old’s cameo in a defeat to Spain.

Reports by 90min in September first credited Arsenal with an interest in Nusa’s transfer. The winger is also on the radar of teams like Liverpool and Newcastle United after Chelsea failed with a £26m bid this summer. His efforts for Norway make it easy to see why they are keen.

“It’s nice to see Norwegian players who make themselves noticed like this,” Odegaard told VG, via Voetbal Primeur. “As soon as Nusa came off the bench, he became dangerous.”

Declan Rice explains why Harry Kane is the ‘perfect example’

Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice has lauded Harry Kane as the ‘perfect example’ for England’s rising crop. He claims the Bayern Munich forward is showing Gareth Southgate’s squad how they should treat their careers to keep performing at a high level once they have turned 30.

Kane is one of many modern players exceeding the traditional peak age and sealed a £100m transfer this summer. The 30-year-old left Tottenham Hotspur as their all-time record scorer with 278 goals in 430 games. He is also England’s record scorer with 61 goals in 87 fixtures.

Robert Lewandowski and Lionel Messi are also ideal examples of players continuing to thrive in their later years. But Rice sees Kane as that example for England’s up-and-coming stars, like himself and Jude Bellingham. He has now played 45 matches beside Kane for England.

“They say your prime is 27, 28 — they used to say that,” Rice has told The Times. “But, now, there are so many players performing in their thirties. Harry is so focused and level-headed, the perfect example for all of us.”

Ian Wright predicts Chelsea vs Arsenal in the London derby

Gunners icon Ian Wright has predicted who will win this Saturday’s London derby as Chelsea host Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. The Blues play host to the Gunners to resume their Premier League campaigns after the international break. Arsenal went into the pause atop the table.

Chelsea have endured another underwhelming term so far with Mauricio Pochettino’s team only 11th in the standings. Arsenal will look to pile further misery on their rivals, too, having won their last three games. And Wright expects Mikel Arteta’s team to make it four in a row.

Wright told The Overlap: “I think we’re beating them. We always cause Chelsea a problem at Stamford Bridge. I’ll go with 3-1… No, 2-1 Arsenal.”

Oleksandr Zinchenko sends Chelsea’s Mykhailo Mudryk a warning

Arsenal star Oleksandr Zinchenko has aimed a warning at Chelsea forward Mudryk ahead of the London derby this Saturday. The left-back used the international break to try to scare his Ukraine teammate before visiting the Blues. It may present only their second game as rivals.

Zinchenko’s Arsenal beat Mudryk’s Chelsea 3-1 at Emirates Stadium in May as Arteta did the double over their rivals. Frank Lampard only fielded Mudryk for the final two minutes of the game, however. He struggled to find form after an £88.5m transfer from Shakhtar Donetsk.

Mudryk may face Arsenal riding a somewhat positive wave of form, though. The 22-year-old finally fired his first Chelsea goal against Fulham earlier this month. He also now has his first Ukraine goal. So, Zinchenko has warned Mudryk about scoring when Arsenal visit Chelsea.

Speaking after Ukraine beat Malta in a Euro 2024 qualifier, via quotes by The Sun, Zinchenko revealed: “I told Mudryk, ‘If you score on Saturday, I’ll rip your balls off’.”

Arsenal land an injury boost with Thomas Partey before facing Chelsea

Arteta landed an injury boost ahead of Arsenal facing Chelsea as Thomas Partey stepped up his recovery with Ghana. The 30-year-old returned from a mix of a groin and a thigh issue against Manchester City prior to the international break. But fears grew whilst he was away.

Partey only managed to play the first 45 minutes against Mexico on Sunday. The 45-cap ace also came off after 64 minutes against the USMNT on Wednesday. But Harry Symeou claims his substitutions were to manage Partey’s workload and make a step forward with his fitness.
