Arsenal winger Gabriel Martinelli has named Gabriel Jesus as the best trainer at Arsenal.

Mikel Arteta demands the highest standards from his players during Arsenal training. However, according to Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Jesus is still able to stand out.

Speaking on the Footballerfits TikTok channel, Martinelli was asked who the most impressive player in Arsenal training is. Without hesitation, the 22-year-old stated simply, “Jesus.”

This response likely won’t come as a surprise to many Arsenal fans, given how Jesus typically conducts himself on the pitch. The Brazilian striker plays every minute of every match he is involved in at full tilt. The 26-year-old presses relentlessly, harrying opponents to win back possession high up the pitch.

As well as helping the Gunners defender from the front, Jesus has plenty of quality when on the ball himself. He regularly runs at his opponents, taking them on in one-on-one duels. His flair and dynamism elevate Arsenal’s attacking play whenever he is on the pitch.

Another of his key strengths is his versatility. Jesus and Arteta haven’t always been on the same page when it comes to this issue, but the 26-year-old has filled in on the flanks when required all the same.

Jesus setting an example and under threat

Given that he is clearly as committed in training as he is on match days at the Emirates Stadium, the former Manchester City man is an excellent role model for the younger players at Arsenal. Arteta will want to see the likes of Martinelli, Bukayo Saka, Eddie Nketiah, and Reiss Nelson matching the £45 million star’s efforts at London Colney.

All that being said, Jesus is not perfect. There have been fitness concerns to contend with in his time with the north London club and his finishing is not the most reliable. Arteta seems to be cognisant of this flaw in the player’s game, and may well be preparing to address it with an incoming goalscorer. As reported by The Mirror, Arsenal are considering a move for Ivan Toney, who would surely challenge for Jesus’ starting berth.
