Mikel Arteta makes one change, £35m ‘game changer’ comes in: Arsenal’s predicted XI vs Tottenham

After their empathic win against PSV Eindhoven last night, Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal now face a huge test against Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Arsenal’s schedule does now get very tough in the coming weeks, but fans will hope fatigue wouldn’t be an issue in the North London Derby.

Arteta’s side head into the game as favourites but fans will know just how improved Spurs are under Postecoglou.

Mikel Arteta will have to get his team selection spot on to beat this Tottenham side, and Arsenal Insider think this is the XI Arteta will go with.

Although there’s a definite possibility for more, we think Mikel Arteta will make just one change for Arsenal against Tottenham.

Kai Havertz performed well against PSV but still looks destined to lose his spot to £35m Fabio Vieira.

The Portuguese midfielder looks ready to shoulder responsibility this season and the North London Derby is an excellent opportunity to prove so.

Vieira has been a ‘game-changer’ in the last month or so and does deserve his chance.

Arteta likely to restore Vieira for Arsenal against Tottenham

Mikel Arteta’s other key decision will be between the sticks.

There seems little point in altering a very familiar back four in defence, but there’s still a big question mark over the position behind them.

Although not too busy, David Raya looked confident and secure against PSV, just as he did against Everton.

Arteta’s goalkeeper policy is a guessing game for fans right now, but is one that should become clearer when Arsenal face Tottenham.

Arsenal Insider thinks Raya will keep his spot ahead of Aaron Ramsdale and will now be the club’s number one for the foreseeable.

That’s not to say the situation won’t change again, but Arteta seems determined to give Raya a chance.

There’s clearly two big calls for Arteta to make against Spurs, and he’ll need to get them right.

There’s a decent chance that Eddie Nketiah returns to the side, but we think Gabriel Jesus’ showing was too good to ignore last night.
