Arsenal have been linked with a move to sign yet another Manchester City star this summer – Joao Cancelo.

The Gunners’ recruitment over the last few years has been sensational. Almost every player we’ve signed has turned out to be a star, and Edu and Mikel Arteta deserve immense praise.

Now, with Arsenal returning to the Champions League, we will need reinforcements. Would you take Cancelo at the Emirates?

Arsenal want to sign Joao Cancelo from Manchester City

90min report today that Arsenal are keen to sign Joao Cancelo from Manchester City this summer.

The Portugal international is currently on loan at Bayern Munich. The German champions have an option to sign him permanently for £61.1 million (€70m), but that fee is viewed as too high.

Cancelo is almost certain to be sold this summer, and along with Bayern and Barcelona, the report claims Arsenal are very interested in signing him.

Arteta knows Cancelo well having worked with him at Manchester City. He reportedly thinks the full-back would be excellent at Arsenal, and we could make a move to sign him this summer.

Cancelo will turn 29 later this month and he still has four years left on his contract.

The Insider’s View:

There were murmurs that Arsenal were signing Manchester City rejects last summer when we brought in Gabriel Jesus and Oleksandr Zinchenko from the champions.

Both players have been absolutely sensational for us and are the biggest reasons why we are even in the title race.

If Arsenal and Arteta need a transfer blueprint, signing a Manchester City player seems like a good one, and that’s probably why the Gunners boss is keeping an eye on Cancelo.

However, after the kind of season we’ve had, it would be a big surprise to see Manchester City sell another one of their players to Arsenal this summer.
