Tomiyasu misses Arsenal training but four other key stars return pre Everton clash

Arsenal take on Everton in the final game of this season’s Premier League on Sunday, and it looks like Takehiro Tomiyasu will miss out due to injury.

The Champions League race is not over yet, but it’s extremely unlikely that we’ll be able to get fourth place. Tottenham are in the driving seat, and all they need is a point to finish above Arsenal again.

The Gunners, however, have to win our game against Everton to stay in with a chance. Sadly, it looks like we’ll have to do it without Tomiyasu, but four other injured players have been pictured back in Training again.

Takehiro Tomiyasu Misses Arsenal training due to injury

Tomiyasu hobbled off the pitch in our game against Newcastle due to what looked like a hamstring injury.

On Wednesday, Sky Sports revealed that the Japan international, along with Ben White, Gabriel Magalhaes and Emile Smith Rowe, missed training, presumably due to niggles they’ve been carrying in recent weeks.

Arsenal have released the final training pics for this season and Tomiyasu is nowhere to be seen. The other three, thankfully, are back, and it’s very likely they’ll be in the squad for the game against Everton tomorrow.

A big surprise in the training pictures, however, is that Thomas Partey is back with the first team as well. The Ghanaian wasn’t expected to return to training before the end of the season, but it looks like his recovery has gone better than expected.

Partey unlikely to play on Sunday

Tomiyasu’s injury problems this year have cost us, but Partey’s absence has been a much bigger blow. The ex-Atletico Madrid man hobbled off the pitch in our defeat at Crystal Palace, and although we’ve picked up a few massive wins since, we failed when it really mattered – against Tottenham.

We truly believe that if Partey was fit against Spurs, the game would’ve turned out differently. That’s in the past, but the good news is he has returned to training now, which means his injury is not something that will keep him out for the entirety of this summer.

However, although Partey is back in training, he’s not set to feature tomorrow. Football London reveal that the Ghanaian has progressed well behind the scenes, but he’s not in contention to make Arteta’s squad when the Toffees come to town.

A win tomorrow will not mean anything if Tottenham get the job done at Norwich City, but three points would certainly be an excellent way to sign off in front of the home fans. Hopefully, Arteta and his men can put on a show against Everton tomorrow.
