Arsenal are set to fly to America for their pre-season tour this summer and owner Stan Kroenke could have the Gunners play in his stunning Sofi Stadium.

A lot of the current Premier League season is yet to be played and Arsenal’s job isn’t done yet. We are in a strong position to finish in the top four for the first time since 2016 and all the focus should be on that.

However, pre-season plans for the summer are already underway at Arsenal and it looks like a trip to the United States is on the cards before the start of the next campaign.

Arsenal in talks to fly to America for pre-season

According to Football London, Arsenal are in discussion to play two pre-season games in America before the start of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.

The Gunners were scheduled to play Inter Milan and Colombian club Millionarios in the United States last summer, but a COVID-19 outbreak ended those plans. Mikel Arteta’s side will need a good pre-season under their belt and it looks like America is a strong option on the table now.

The report claims that venues are yet to be decided for the two potential games, but there’s a possibility that Stan Kroenke’s SoFi Stadium could host at least one fixture this summer.

A look at Stan Kroenke’s stunning SoFi Stadium

According to The Sun, Kroenke’s SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, cost a whopping $5.5 billion (£4.05 billion) to build.

The state-of-the-art 70,000-seat arena opened its doors in 2020 and is the home of the LA Rams and Chargers. It is the most expensive stadium in the NFL and has 260 luxury suites, 13,000 premium suites and can be expanded to seat up to 100,000 fans for major events.

The stunning arena also hosted the 2022 Super Bowl, which Kroenke’s LA Rams won last weekend.

Arsenal could play there in the summer and it will surely be an incredible experience for the travelling fans.
