'Yessss', 'That's my MVP': Some Arsenal fans react to £23m star's two-word tweet

Arsenal have had a stunning turnaround. Mikel Arteta’s side looked doomed two weeks ago, but three wins on the bounce has pushed us up the table.

We are now just six points below fourth place and ‘title contenders’ Tottenham Hotspur. Arteta deserves a ton of credit, especially as our three wins have come without our two best players.

Thomas Partey has been out since the North London derby last month, while Gabriel Magalhaes had to isolate himself after testing positive for the virus. That, on paper at least, is an enormous blow, but we have done well.

Arsenal confirmed today that Partey is fit and back in training. Gabriel, on the other hand, has tested negative which is a big boost, but he still has to go through the necessary protocols before he can return.

Based on that update, Arsenal fans were worried about the Brazilian’s availability for the game on Saturday. Gabriel has undoubtedly been our best player this season and his presence in our defence makes a massive difference.

Arsenal are yet to confirm the situation surrounding the former Lille man, but the Brazilian has taken matters into his own hands.

That is a massive boost for us ahead of the game this weekend. Rob Holding and Pablo Mari have done incredibly well during Gabriel’s absence, but our £23 million (BBC) summer signing’s return will make Bernd Leno’s job a lot easier.

Arsenal fans, predictably, were delighted to see Gabriel’s tweet. Here’s how a few of them reacted on Twitter.
