Arsenal want Pickford, Wenger thinks Alexis will stay and some early Monday team news

Sanchez to stay?

This is according to manager Arsene Wenger who has said Alexis Sanchez wants to stay at the club, but they need to find an agreement with his agent. He claims Sanchez will stay for another season and the new contract hinges on financial negotiations. I would be surprised if Arsenal let Sanchez run out his contract to then be available on a free transfer at the end of next season.

Early team news

Arsenal take on Crystal Palace without Petr Cech and David Ospina. Both players have not recovered from injury in time so Emiliano Martinez will continue to deputise.

Laurent Koscielny is also ruled out due to his Achilles injury, although Wenger has confirmed the scan has not shown up any ligament damage. However, Francis Coquelin will be back in the squad.

Wenger may also continue with Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka in midfield after being impressed with the pair against West Ham in midweek. Wenger praised the Egyptian Elneny, claiming he offered continuity and fluency that had been lacking in the team in recent weeks. It does not look good for Aaron Ramsey and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Navas for number one?

Real Madrid seem set to offload goalkeeper Keylor Navas at the end of the season, with Arsenal set to take an interest. The Costa Rican international has had a difficult period in Spain with Madrid keen to sign a top class goalkeeper instead.

Pickford for number one?

Another goalkeeper rumoured to be signing for the club is Sunderland keeper Jordan Pickford. Apparently, the club see Pickford as a long-term replacement for current number one Petr Cech.

Wenger has publicly backed third choice keeper Emiliano Martinez who is currently between the sticks. Wenger feels Martinez has the potential to become a world-class goalkeeper in time.

Bye, bye Giroud

It seems Marseille have taken an interest in French striker Olivier Giroud and could make a move for him in the summer. With Arsenal looking to revamp the squad you feel the club won’t stand in his way, as the French club continue to add to their team following the signing of Dimitri Payet.

Crazy transfer news

Laurent Koscielny could make a surprise move to Marseille according to reports. It would be a huge surprise if Arsenal let Koscielny leave the club, seeing as centre back is one position the team are struggling with due to players either being not good enough or out of form.
