National League Betting Preview Saturday 2nd December 2017

The Vanarama National League continues on Saturday 2nd December with Aldershot the new leaders following their midweek victory over Bromley and we’ve taken a look at some of the key matches this weekend.

Bromley vs DoverLive Game Odds

A midweek defeat for Bromley ended their unbeaten run in the National League on Tuesday night as they went down to ten man Aldershot. Gary Waddock’s side moved top of the table as a result and it doesn’t get much easier for the hosts as they prepare to take on an impressive Dover side. Bromley have been priced up as the 19/10 outsiders for this clash with Betfair.

The hosts will be heartened by the fact that Dover have lost successive matches for the first time since April and they could pile more misery on their visitors. It’s far from the longest trip for Chris Kinnear’s side but they will be keen to get back on track and are 5/4 with Betfred to pick up three points here.

Dover’s defence is in reasonable shape but their attack isn’t firing and that could be a problem here once again. They’ve failed to score in three of their last five matches in the National League and it’s 39/40 with 888Sport for this match to feature Under 2.5 Goals. It would have landed in each of Dover’s last five games.

Hartlepool vs MacclesfieldLive Game Odds

Hartlepool’s patchy form continues as they slipped up away to Ebbsfleet last weekend. Pools just cannot seem to put together a consistent run as they look to mount a play-off challenge after a poor start to the campaign. Craig Harrison will be hoping his side can make it back to back home victories here and they’ve been priced up as the 4/3 favourites with 888Sport against the Macclesfield.

John Askey’s side are unbeaten in four matches but their tendency to draw has seen them surrender top spot. They must return to winning ways here especially considering all of the top three are in action this weekend. Boylesports are offering 13/8 for them to triumph on their travels yet again.

Hartlepool kept their first home clean sheet in four against hapless Halifax last time out and they will be keen to repeat the trick but Macclesfield offer plenty going forward. The hosts have goals in their side too and have netted in seven of their last eight here. Both Teams to Score? Yes is priced at 4/5 with Betfair.

Solihull Moors vs Leyton OrientLive Game Odds

There is hope for Solihull Moors who are looking a little more solid under new manager Mark Yates. He guided them to 1-1 draw at home to Gateshead and they’ve now only conceded three in three (much improved compared to their early season form). Yates will see this game against free-falling Orient as the chance to get his first win on the board. The side from the Midlands have been priced up as the 2/1 outsiders with Betfred and that price could prove tempting for some punters.

Justin Edinburgh is the new man in the hotseat at Brisbane Road but the former Newport and Gillingham boss starts his tenure with an away trip. 888Sport have them down as the 15/13 favourites for this tie on the road.

Orient have conceded at least two goals in each of their last seven away games and the Moors are just finding their feet in front of goal. This could be a high-scoring and entertaining affair between two sides who are desperate for the points. Bet365 have Over 2.5 Goals priced at 8/11.

Halifax vs BarrowLive Game Odds

Halifax boss Billy Heath called his sides 3-3 draw with Eastleigh “a crazy crazy game” but also bemoaned his sides habit of gifting the opposition sloppy goals. The West Yorkshire side have conceded 10 goals in their last three games and must tighten up if they are to see off Barrow. Despite their woes at the back, they remain unbeaten in four of their last five home matches and are 11/10 with Bet365 to get back to winning ways here.

They got themselves on the scoresheet against Eastleigh with Tom Denton adding another one to his collection for the season. The 28 year old has scored seven times this campaign and is 9/4 with Bet365 to take another step towards double figures here.

Barrow boss Ady Pennock says he needs reinforcements ahead of this fixture and has been scouting for some new recruits. Worrying his side conceded three at the weekend and they don’t look secure at the back. This could be a high scoring game and Over 2.5 Goals is a standout price at Evens with Paddy Power.

Sutton vs EastleighLive Game Odds

Sutton were knocked off top spot in midweek by Aldershot but they remain in contention on 39 points. They’ve won three of the last five and their two first half goals settled matters in West Yorkshire last weekend. Their defence could do with some improvement as they’ve only kept one clean sheet in five here. They are short-priced 3/5 favourites for this tie with 888Sport.

Eastleigh have been involved in some topsy-turvy affairs this season as boss Richard Hill continues to watch on in frustration. They’ve lost Gary McSheffrey this week but still have a number of players who have football league experience and should be performing week in week out. They are the 9/2 outsiders with Betfred here.

Eastleigh have conceded seven in their last three matches and scored five times during that time. Sutton rarely keep clean sheets here and both sides should register here. Both Teams to Score? Yes is priced at 10/11 with Bet365.

Torquay vs AldershotLive Game Odds

Gary Owers has seen his side secure back to back victories in the National League and he is hoping his side can use that as a springboard to go on an unbeaten run and climb the table. They have a tough task here against the new leaders and mid-week winners Aldershot. The Gulls are 19/10 with Betfair to make it a hat-trick of victories here.

Aldershot moved top of the table after breezing past Bromley on Tuesday night despite playing over half the game with ten men. It was an impressive performance from the Shots who have now won four matches in a row and are looking like promotion contenders. 888Sport have made them narrow 15/13 favourites for this tie.

Bernard Mensah has found the net in each of his last three Aldershot matches and is on a hot streak. He is 21/10 with Bet365 to extend his scoring streak here.

Wrexham vs MaidenheadLive Game Odds

Wrexham were beaten last weekend by Aldershot as they slumped to their first defeat since the end of October. The Welsh side are looking for an immediate response back at the Racecourse Ground. They’ve been excellent in front of their own fans this season and haven’t lost since the opening day of the campaign. It’s perfectly understandable that they’ve been priced up as 10/11 favourites with Betfred.

Maidenhead don’t win often enough but they are difficult to beat. They’ve picked up a point in four of their last five matches and it is 3/1 with Bet365 for this to end all square once again.

Chris Holroyd is a regular finisher at this level and he has netted four of Wrexham’s last five goals here at home. He is likely to get plenty of chances once again and is 6/4 with Bet365 to score during the 90 minutes.
