National League Betting Preview Saturday 7th October 2017

Another quick turnaround in the Vanarama National League on Saturday as the sides play their third game inside a week. We’ve previewed the key clashes for the games on Saturday 7th October 2017

Barrow v Leyton OrientLive Game Odds
Both of these sides slipped up in midweek and will be looking to bounce back. The Cumbrians continued their miserable run when conceded in stoppage time at Hartlepool. They are back at home here and they are far more effective on their own patch. Barrow can be backed at 11/10 with 888Sport.

Steve Davis plenty of problems at the Matchroom Stadium and his side just cannot keep a clean sheet. They conceded twice at Tranmere in midweek and that caused them to slip into mid-table. They are 11/5 with Betfair to end that miserable sequence here.

Barrow are a low-scoring side but Leyton Orient just cannot keep stop conceding. They’ve shipped 7 goals in the last three Matches and away from they are averaging two goals conceded per game. Over 2.5 Goals is 3/4 with Boylesports.

Boreham Wood vs HalifaxLive Game Odds
Boreham Wood picked up a notable result here in midweek as they ran out 1-0 winners at home to in-form Eastleigh. It was a hugely dominant performance from the hosts and they will be looking to spring a second surprise inside a week when hosting Halifax. It’s Evens with 888Sport for Boreham Wood to notch up a second victory inside a week.

Halifax remain in decent form and held high-flying Wrexham to a goalless draw and will be looking to thwart the Halifax attack here. They are 27/10 with Betfair to grab all three points here.

The Woodmen will be confident going into this tie and Halifax have conceded at least two goals in their last couple of away matches. Over 2.5 Goals is 20/23 with Boylesports.

Gateshead vs BromleyLive Game Odds
Neil Aspin departed Gateshead this week after he was announced as the new boss of struggling League Two side Port Vale. His final game in charge was a drab goalless draw with AFC Fylde. The Heed are back at home for this clash with Bromley and in the post-Aspin era, they’ll be looking to continue their excellent home form. They’re Evens with 888Sport to collect three points.

Bromley weren’t expected to pick up anything from their trip to Maidstone in midweek but they somehow collected all three points and picked up their first victory in five on the road. They are 12/5 with Paddy Power to repeat the trick here.

Despite their poor form on the road, Bromley have netted in each of their last three away matches and will be confident of hitting the target here. The hosts have only conceded four goals at home but they did ship twice to Chester and once to Boreham Wood. Both Teams to Score? Yes is 8/11 with Betfred.

Macclesfield vs EbbsfleetLive Game Odds
Macclesfield became the new leaders of the National League in midweek with Jon Askey’s side once again excelling on the road. They’ve won four out of their last five games and they host in-form Ebbsfleet here. Macc are 6/5 with 888Sport.

The visitors arrive here after winning three on the bounce and come here off the back of beating Solihull Moors in midweek. They have finally learnt how to put games to bed after drawing 7 of their first 8 matches at this level. The Kent side are 21/10 with Paddy Power to make it four consecutive victories.

The side based in Northfleet have tightened up at the back lately and have conceded just once in four matches. Macclesfield have conceded just once in three games and despite their difference in league position, there may be little between these sides. Under 2.5 Goals is 10/11 with Betfred.

Maidenhead v AldershotLive Game Odds
Maidenhead’s contrasting home/away form continued in midweek as they were pummelled by bottom club Torquay at Plainmoor. They have been very effective on their own patch but meek on their travels this season. Tranmere, Guiseley and Boreham Wood have left York Road without any points in recent weeks and Aldershot will be hoping they can buck the trend. The hosts 15/8 with Betfair to collect three points once again.

The Shots have slipped to 7th in the National League after a run of three games without a victory. Gary Waddock’s men have faced a tough run of games which has included matches against Dagenham and leaders Macclesfield. They are 13/10 with Bet365 to put an end to that poor run.

The visitors don’t give much away on the road and their matches have been pretty tight recently. They’ve conceded just twice in their last four matches on their travels and Under 2.5 Goals is priced at 5/6 with Boylesports.

Maidstone vs GuiseleyLive Game Odds
Maidstone started at odds-on in midweek but were humbled at home by Bromley. They’ll be aiming to bounce back here at home to poor-travellers Guiseley. Paddy Power have priced the hosts up at 8/13 for success here.

Guiseley have shown small amounts of improvement under new boss Paul Cox but the squad lacks quality and the former Mansfield boss has a big job on his hands. The West Yorkshire side are yet to win on the road this season and have netted just twice so far. Maidstone -1 handicap can be backed at 19/10 with Boylesports.

The visitors did pick up creditable draws at Wrexham and Barrow in recent weeks and they’ll be aiming for a similar performance. It’s 13/5 for them to battle their way to a draw with Betfred.

Solihull Moors vs HartlepoolLive Game Odds
Liam McDonald left Solihull Moors this week following their poor start to the campaign. When they best Chester 2-0 at the start of September, it appeared they were turning a corner but they couldn’t build on it. They’ve collected just eight points from 14 matches but clubs can often react positively to a managerial sacking and they are 11/5 with 888Sport to spring a bit of a surprise here.

Hartlepool left it late against Barrow in midweek hitting a 95th minute winner to see off the Cumbrian side. It got Craig Harrison’s men back to winning ways after dropping points against Eastleigh and Woking. They are 21/20 with Betfair to collect another three points here.

Hartlepool have scored just six goals on their travels despite picking up 8 points from their last four on the road. They’ve also only conceded seven and their hosts lack goals. Under 2.5 Goals is priced at 10/11 with Paddy Power.

Sutton vs AFC FyldeLive Game Odds
Sutton continue to prove inconsistent this season but they picked up a decent point at home to Dover on Tuesday night. It was a hugely entertaining 2-2 draw with the Kent side and they remain tough to beat at home. They are 13/18 with 888Sport to pick up all three points at Gander Green Lane on Saturday afternoon.

AFC Fylde don’t play out many goalless draws but they failed to find the target against Gateshead in midweek with fans enduring a fairly insipid 90 minutes. They do have the habit of springing a surprise on their travels and beat relegated pair Leyton Orient and Hartlepool whilst picking up a decent point at Eastleigh. They are a huge 7/2 with Boylesports to head back to the North West with all three points.

Fylde are far more open on their travels this season netting 12 of their 21 goals on their travels whilst there have been three or more goals in Sutton’s last two home matches. Over 2.5 Goals is 5/6 with Paddy Power.

Torquay v DoverLive Game Odds
The result of midweek surely can surely be awarded to Torquay who hit four goals past Maidenhead at Plainmoor. There had been signs of improvement from the Gulls who had drawn at Barrow and only lost by a single goal to Dagenham.

Manager Gary Owers said his side will not get carried away after their runaway success and they are outsiders at 11/4 with Betfred to claim all three points here.

They face a tricky assignment on Saturday as they aim to stop high-flying Dover who have moved into second place. The Kent outfit have drawn their last two away games in the National League and are unbeaten on the road since the 25th of August. They are 10/11 with Bet365 to claim all three points and it’s 28/11 with 888Sport for them to play out a third consecutive stalemate.

The hosts will be full of confidence coming into this tie and displayed their firepower on Tuesday night. Dover have conceded in their last two away matches including against lowly Guiseley. Both Teams to Score is 8/11 with Betfred.

Tranmere vs ChesterLive Game Odds
Tranmere have now made it back-to-back wins and suddenly Mickey Mellon’s side can start looking up the table. They saw off a plucky Leyton Orient to add to their last-gasp winner against Bromley and are looking to make it a hat-trick of successes when they take on their near-neighbours. It’s no surprise to see them priced up as short 1/3 favourites with Bet365 here.

That prohibitive price will be too short for many punters but it can be enhanced by adding Over 2.5 Goals to the equation. Tranmere have suddenly found their shooting boots with both James Norwood and Andy Cook scoring in midweek and Chester will play their part under new boss Marcus Bignot. Tranmere to Win and Over 2.5 Goals is priced at 21/20 with Boylesports.

Three of Chester’s last five away games have featured three or more goals and it’s 8/11 with Bet365 to land again here.

Bignot’s side were defeated at the hands of Woking in midweek but there were plenty of positives and they are 15/4 with 888Sport to battle their way to a draw here.

Woking v DagenhamLive Game Odds
Woking continue their upward trajectory and put two past Chester in midweek. They don’t win many on the road but they’ve been extremely hard to beat at home and they are priced as 5/2 outsiders with Betfair here.

Dagenham can hardly be trusted on their travels and have won just once in their opening seven away matches. They did battle their way to a draw at Aldershot recently to make it four draws from five and it’s 5/2 with 888Sport for the points to be shared once again.

Despite their lofty position and terrific home form, Woking have kept just one clean sheet in the last five matches here whilst the Daggers have only drawn one blank in their last five on the road. It’s 4/7 with Boylesports that both sides find the net here. For those feeling ambitious, a 2-2 draw can be backed at 11/1 with Betfred. Three of Dagenham’s away matches have ended with this scoreline so far this campaign.

Wrexham v EastleighLive Game Odds
The televised match on Saturday evening comes from the racecourse ground. Wrexham have been excellent so far this season and they have built from the back. They have lost just three times all season but too many draws have stopped them challenging for top spot. The home side are 15/13 with 888Sport to continue their decent run of form at home.

Their defence has been magnificent so far and they’ve conceded just 7 times in their opening 14 matches. They managed another clean sheet at Halifax in midweek and they should be able to prevent Eastleigh from getting on the scoresheet. Under 0.5 Eastleigh goals is priced at 28/17 with 888Sport.

The Spitfires are unbeaten in three of their last five matches and won’t make it easy for the hosts. They are 13/5 with Bet365 to battle their way to a draw.
