Macclesfield Town v Dover Athletic Betting Preview

Macclesfield put in their worst performance of the season last weekend losing 3-0 at Gateshead, their fourth match without a win and they’ll be hoping for much better this time around. They are 6/5 with Betfred to bounce back at the Moss Rose here as they take on Dover.

John Askey requested his side show they are made of the ‘right stuff’ following their defeat in the North East but they’ve conceded five goals in their last couple of games and Both Teams To Score is 3/4 with 888Sport here. A draw will see Macclesfield maintain an unbeaten home record and Betfred are offering 11/5 on this.

Dover are now three games unbeaten in the National League following their surprise defeat at the hands of the impressive Bromley and are priced at 12/5 with Bet365 which is the best price available on the Kent side. But Chris Kinnear’s Dover are yet to win in Cheshire, losing twice and drawing once against the Silkmen since winning promotion back to the National League.

Dover will want to keep their 100% away record this season intact with a win and as the rest of the division’s fixtures are taking place on Saturday afternoon, a win here would see them move into top spot for a few hours at least.

Ryan Bird has now netted in two of the last three matches for the away side and he is 2/1 with Bet365 to score again here during the 90 minutes. Macclesfield, signed 15 new players in the summer and one of those new arrivals was striker Tyrone Marsh who made 16 appearances for Dover during the last two seasons. He is 15/8 to score against his old side with Bet365.
