National League Betting Preview Saturday 2nd September 2017

After a bumper set of Bank Holiday fixtures it’s straight back to action for the National League sides and we’ve taken a look at some of the key fixtures this weekend.

Aldershot v Solihull Moors
After a tremendous start to the season, the early enthusiasm has died down at Aldershot. The Shots haven’t won any of their last four Matches in the National League. Despite that, they start as 4/9 favourites with Sky Bet.

Gary Waddock’s side have only lost once at home this season slipping against Chester despite taking the lead and are struggling to keep clean sheets at the moment with Both Teams to Score priced at 7/9 with 888Sport.

Solihull Moors have only won once this campaign, a victory which came against rock-bottom Torquay last weekend. They will be hoping to take advantage of their opponent’s mini-blip and are 16/5 with Boylesports to nick a draw here.

Their defence has caused them issues and they’ve shipped 14 goals already this season. Over 2.5 Goals will be popular and can be backed at 6/10 with Betfair.

Barrow v Boreham Wood
Barrow slipped up against AFC Fylde on TV on Monday night as they went down by a single goal. The Cumbrians are 5/4 with Betfred to bounce back from defeat here. They parted ways with manager Paul Cox following the loss and will be led by Michael Moore here ably assisted by former Solihull Moors chief Marcus Bignot.

They’ve now failed to win any of their last four matches, although they’ve suffered just a single defeat in that run. They’ll be buoyed by the fact that Byron Harrison returned from injury to feature on the bench at Mill Farm on Monday. He’s the favourite at Evens score anytime with Bet365.

Boreham Wood are above their hosts in the National League table but are winless in their last couple of games. They unexpectedly drew at Tranmere last weekend and are 21/10 with Betfair to make the long journey back with a point here.

Dagenham v Gateshead
John Still’s Dagenham are improving all the time and are odds-on at 10/11 with Sky Bet to come away with all three points here. They sit in 2nd in the table and are unbeaten in their last five matches although turning draws into wins is proving a problem.

They kept a rare clean sheet on Monday afternoon at Maidstone, a side who are playing with confidence but the home crowd will be expecting goals here. There have been 15 goals in their opening 3 home matches and it’s 3/4 with Boylesport that Over 2.5 Goals lands here as well.

Gateshead have the best home record in the division but have failed to turn up on the road scoring just a single goal and picking up just a single point. It’s 5/2 with Betfred for them to claim a second point of the season on their travels.

Michael Cheek has been prolific since arriving at the club this summer and his fine form could continue here. He’s the 6/5 favourite in the anytime goalscorer market with Bet365.

Ebbsfleet v Eastleigh
Ebbsfleet are one of the few sides in the division to remain unbeaten this season, only Dagenham can share that honour at this stage. The newly promoted club have drawn 6 of their last 7 matches and it’s 23/10 with Paddy Power that this match also ends all square.

They’ve netted 12 times during that unbeaten run and conceded 10 times having been involved in some exciting contests so far and it’s 7/10 with Bet365 that Both Teams Score here.

Eastleigh are just a point better off than their hosts coming into this game and have made a solid start to the season under manager Richard Hill. They arrive here three matches unbeaten and are 2/1 with Betfair to end Ebbsfleet’s unbeaten start.

They have conceded just a single goal in their last three matches and it’s 5/6 with Sky Bet that this match ends with Under 2.5 Goals.

Halifax v AFC Fylde
Billy Heath always believed his side would exceed expectations in the early part of the campaign and they’ve been noticeably improving in recent weeks. They are back at the Shay here and are 11/8 with Boylesports to collect another three points.

This is a tough game for the West Yorkshire outfit who beat neighbours Guiseley here seven days ago and a point would probably be considered a decent result. It’s 5/2 with 888Sport for this contest to end honours even.

AFC Fylde have put together a nice little run having drawn with high-flying Dagenham before beating Hartlepool and Barrow. They are 9/5 with Betfair to triumph on their travels.

Jonny Smith has been in decent form recently and is 11/4 with Bet365 to score during the 90 minutes.

Hartlepool v Maidstone
There are signs of life in the North East with Hartlepool picking up their first maximum haul of the season on Monday. The Monkey Hangers bounced back from a disappointing weekend result against AFC Fylde with a victory at Guiseley. They are Evens with Betfair to make it back to back successes.

It was also a rare clean sheet for Hartlepool and with 9 goals conceded in their opening 7 matches, it should fill them with confidence.

Maidstone are playing well at the moment and have risen to 17th as a result of their four match unbeaten streak. They are 3/1 with Paddy Power to continue their successful streak. They unexpectedly hit three against Sutton and are very dangerous going forward. Over 2.5 Goals here is 7/8 with 888Sport.

Leyton Orient v Guiseley
Guiseley have parted company with Adam Lockwood this week after a dismal run of results which has seen them win just once in their opening 7 matches. The West Yorkshire outfit crumbled miserably against Hartlepool on Monday and Lockwood paid the price. They are 5/1 with Betfair to react positively to the change and pick up all three points here.

Leyton Orient are still a bit hit and miss but have climbed to third place in the table and are three matches unbeaten. They are 4/9 with Paddy Power to collect all three points here.

The O’s have found their shooting boots in recent matches and they are 8/13 with Bet365 to score Over 1.5 Team goals here.

They’ve added Matt Harrold to their squad this week with the striker hoping to make an instant impact following his move from Crawley and he’s 13/10 with Bet365 to score anytime.

Macclesfield v Woking
John Askey’s side have been in decent form recently and are aiming for a hat-trick of victories on Saturday. Macc have always been decent on the road and beat Chester 2-0 on Monday and are 5/6 with Sky Bet to follow it up with another three points here.

They’ve kept two clean sheets in a row and are priced at 11/8 with Paddy Power to shut out the opposition here.

Woking were one of the big victors on Monday thumping struggling Torquay 4-1 and they are a huge 3/1 with Betfair to spring a surprise here.

Tyrone Marsh netted the winner for the hosts in their last home match a week ago and he’s the 6/4 favourite with Bet365 to find the net here.

Sutton v Maidenhead
Sutton suffered a minor blip last weekend but still sit top of the National League on 15 points. They’re averaging over 2 points per game and will be confidence of another victory here. They are 8/11 with Sky Bet to extend their lead at the top of the table.

They are scoring plenty of goals at the moment with three of their last four matches featuring three or more goals and it’s 7/9 with 888Sport for Over 2.5 Goals to land again here. However, Dave Tarpey left Maidenhead to sign for Barnet on the stroke of the 11pm deadline and the 28-year-old front man who scored 7 goals in six games will be a big miss.

Maidenhead will be buoyed by Maidstone’s success here seven days ago and they will fancy their chances of repeating the trick. They are 17/4 with Bet365 to take all three points home.

Torquay v Chester
The Gulls sit bottom of the table and haven’t improved since Kevin Nicholson’s departure. Despite that poor recent form, they are 21/10 with Boylesports for success here.

Chester will be confident of beating a side who have been defeated in five consecutive matches and they are an outstanding 13/5 with Betfair to grab an away win.

The visitors don’t keep many clean sheets and have conceded in their last two away matches. Both Teams to Score is 8/13 with Bet365 for this encounter.

Jon-Paul Pittman pulled a goal back last weekend to give his side a fighting chance but it wasn’t enough and he’s 7/5 with Bet365 to net again here.

Wrexham v Bromley
The Racecourse Ground has been a happy stadium in recent weeks with consecutive victories in front of their own fans for Wrexham. They are 21/20 with Sky Bet to continue that run against Bromley.

Clean sheets have been the key to their success and their back-line is well-drilled. They are 13/8 with Paddy Power to keep Bromley off the scoresheet here.

The visitors have been in decent form recently and sit just outside the play-offs. They will be hoping to leave Wales with something to show for it and are 21/10 with Boylesports to claim a point.

Alex Reid has netted the winner for the hosts on a couple of occasions recently and he is 8/5 with Bet365 to repeat the trick here.

Tranmere v Dover
Tranmere have started to improve lately and they are showing some signs of life. The Prenton Park outfit were tipped for success this season but it hasn’t been all plain sailing. They are 4/6 with Sky Bet to claim all three points here and make it back to back wins.

They are also priced at 17/10 with 888Sport on the half time/full time market and they appeared to have turned a corner in recent weeks.

Dover aren’t as clinical on their travels and they slipped up against Macclesfield last time out. Two of their last three games have ended with just a single goal and it’s 4/5 with Paddy Power that Under 2.5 Goals lands again here.

Andy Cook has netted in both of Tranmere’s recent victories and is a tempting 5/4 with Sky Bet to score anytime in this televised encounter.
