Gosport Borough have signed experienced former Portsmouth Striker Rowan Vine. The 6ft 1in frontman joined National League side Welling United in January having been a free agent following his departure from Scottish League side Greenock Morton.
The 33-year-old striker made moved to Birmingham City for £2.5million in January 2007. He has also had spells at the likes of Luton Town, where his nine goals helped the Hatters clinch the League One title and saw him labelled “King of Assists” in a section of a Luton News newspaper.
He has also had spells at Queens Park Rangers, St Johnstone, Hibernian, Brentford, Hull, Exeter and Gillingham having started his career as a trainee with Portsmouth.
Vine made his debut in Gosports 2-1 home defeat on Saturday at Vanarama National League South leaders Ebbsfleet.
