National League South Preview – 24th October 2015

Bishops Stortford vs Dartford – 15:00
Hertfordshire side Bishops Stortford welcome Kent based team Dartford to Woodside Park on Saturday 24th October 2015 for a mid–table clash in the National League South division.

Since being relegated from the National League last season, Dartford have had a mixed start to the current campaign and currently lie 14th in the league table going into this game.

Bishops Stortford have failed to find the net in their last three league matches at home, whilst Dartford have failed to convert chances on just two occasions on the road thus far this season. However, given Bishops Stortford boast the division’s second top scorer with ten league goals this season and Dartford have failed to score only against two sides in the top half of the table, 4/5 for both teams to score at BoyleSports looks tempting.

Considering that the last four matches involving Bishops Stortford in all competitions have ended with no more than two match goals. Both sides recent form suggests that they each won’t score more than one match goal apiece and under 2.5 goals can be backed at 17/20 with Bet365.

Chelmsford vs Ebbsfleet United – 15:00
Top of the league Ebbsfleet United travel to Essex to face a Chelmsford side that have a point to prove to their supporters after their 4-0 loss to Oxford City last time out on home soil.

Both sides finished mid-table last season, but Ebbsfleet are certainly living up to their favourites tag this season as they currently sit top of the pile with a staggering eleven win’s out of thirteen league games played. They are also the leagues’ third highest scoring team, and boast the second best defence.

Chelmsford, on the other hand, have conceded almost as many goals than they have scored, but are currently sitting in the top half of the table, which is a slight improvement on where they finished last season’s campaign. Although Ebbsfleet have one of the best defences in the league, Chelmsford have scored over two goals a game on average at home and both teams to score can be back with Paddy Power at 4/7, while Ebbsfleet United to win & both teams to score can be backed at 11/4 on BoyleSports.com. Given that the away side are the most in form team this looks a strong bet.

Hemel Hempstead vs Conrad Rangers – 15:00
Eighth placed Hemel Hempstead welcome lowly Concord Rangers to the Vauxhall Ground on Saturday looking to win their first league game since a 4-0 win during the middle of September. Concord Rangers have only the one win on the road so far this season, and I cannot see them getting three points on Saturday either. Having only secured one point in their past five games, Concord have the joint worst defence in the division alongside Weston-Super-Mare, whilst Hemel Hempstead are the fourth highest goal scorers in the league. Hemel Hempstead to win the match has short odd’s and is best priced at 3/5 with Bet365.

Concord Rangers finished seventh in the league last season, but their performances in this current campaign have been far from satisfactory. Hemel Hempstead to win and over 2.5 match goals, which is currently priced at 5/4 BoyleSports has some appeal.

Given that Concord Rangers have been awful defensively this season, they have also shown that they can still score goals, and have only failed to find the net once this season. Both teams to score is currently priced at 7/12 with 888Sport.

Truro City vs Gosport Borough – 15:00
Recently promoted side Truro City host last season’s top six side Gosport Borough to the Treyew Road stadium, with both sides wanting to get back to winning ways with three vital points.

Both sides are in mixed form at present, and have both failed to find the back of the net on five occasions each during this campaign. On the other hand, Gosport Borough have kept four clean sheets from their first six away matches this season, and I just cannot see Truro City having enough quality up top to break this solid defence.

Given that I can’t see Truro City scoring, I’d be inclined to back an away win. However, with Gosport Borough being in a mixed run of form at present, a safer bet maybe to go for a Gosport win, draw no bet, which is priced at 11/10 on Bet365. While under 2.5 match goals can be claimed at 1/1 on bookies BoyleSports.
