Can we pause for a moment and just ponder on the title and get a good understanding of where we are about to go……..
Weeks ago I was listening to a sermon and I heard the guest speaker say, “ The Word Of God Is Not Enough”. And, The Holy Spirit immediately said, “it’s not that the Word of God isn’t enough, it’s the lack of (heart penetration) of the Word that isn’t enough. The problem is, that the Word of God for many people has become surface level (memory), and not heart level (embedded)… .Amen!(Proverbs 4:20-22) My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen carefully to my words. Don’t lose sight of them. Let them penetrate deep into your heart, for they bring life to those who find them, and healing to their whole body.
What you need to know is that the Word of God is just that, His Word! It is living, it is speaking in every book, on every page, and in every verse. His Word wants to move in on the inside of you, so you can be the living example of obedience to it, here on earth. You were created with a purpose, His purpose! (2 Timothy 1:9)He has saved us and called us to a holy life—not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time,
God created you in the image of Himself, for Himself! He sent you here. not for yourself, but for Him and others. God created you with purpose (Proverbs 16:4 )The Lord has made everything for his own purposes, even the wicked for a day of disaster.
Once you make the choice to follow Him, your life becomes new, He is now your Father, and it is your job to open up His Word to learn Him, and study Him, and to find out what He wants to say to you behind the Word, and what He needs from you while you are here (John 8:31-32)So Jesus was saying to the Jews who had believed Him, “If you abide in My word [continually obeying My teachings and living in accordance with them, then] you are truly My disciples. And you will know the truth [regarding salvation], and the truth will set you free [from the penalty of sin].”
We serve a Higher Power and His name is God the Father, who has a Son named Jesus, who blesses us ( those who want Him) to be indwelt with the Holy Spirit……Amen! So allow Him to use you….We all have a starting place, and that starting place is to grow in Him, and learn about Him, and to develop a personal relationship with Him, and that all starts in The Word of God, but it doesn’t stop there either, and this is where people get side tracked….. The purpose for His Word is to grow you in (wisdom, knowledge, understanding, instruction, and direction) as a believer while still here on the earth. Get His Word on the inside of you and feed on it! It’s your job to become more intimate with Him spiritually, so you can Experience Him For Yourself!!! (Psa.34:8)Find out for yourself how good the LORD is. Happy are those who find safety with him.
And, In order to experience God for yourself on a personal level, it is 100% necessary to get the Word of God into your heart and soul so you can obey it, and walk it out on a daily basis. It’s important to find out what He has for you to do while you are here, and get it accomplished. It’s important to learn His mind and understand His ways.
Know this, “what God has for you is for you”, and you will not be able to experience that until you are fully immersed in Him, so you can fully represent Him and spread His Word. Amen! (2Tim. 4:2)Be ready to spread the word whether or not the time is right. Point out errors, warn people, and encourage them. Be very patient when you teach.
There is a devil out here that wants to speak and lead you just like the Spirit of God does, and if you can not distinguish one voice from the other, and you don’t know what the bible is telling you as in, how to distinguish that, then how will you know..Amen! (1Pet. 5:8)Be on your guard and stay awake. Your enemy, the devil, is like a roaring lion, sneaking around to find someone to attack. Let’s be honest, the devil knows the bible inside and out, and can be seen as false prophets who know scriptures, quote them, and even try and explain them. So, learn it for yourself!
what really matters to God, is how (you’re) living and how (you’re) walking before Him. You must put what you are learning into practice daily, what you’re reading and studying. And, you must obey what you’re being told. (Jam.1:22) But don’t just listen to God’s word. You must do what it says. Otherwise, you are only fooling yourselves.
Are you being a model of what you’re studying for others to see, speaking for others to hear, and carrying out His language of love for others to experience?
Always be that model for someone else to see by, studying to show yourself approved..(2Tim. 2:15)Work hard so you can present yourself to God and receive his approval. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth.
Ponder on this…. quoted by (Tony Evans) “Just because someone attends church does not mean they have a relationship with God, “and just because they carry a Bible doesn’t mean they are saved. ( Matt.7:16)You can identify them by their fruit, that is, by the way they act. Can you pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? To better understand the end part of this scripture, it means (that thistles had different flowers than fig trees; thorn bushes did not bear grapes; and that berries on thorn bushes did not grow on grapevines).
So, can you honestly say, simply hearing and reading the Bible is enough? No, because no matter how many Sunday sermons you listen to, or how many different pews you sit on Sunday after Sunday, if the Word of God is not penetrating your heart and changing your life…. is it enough? (Psa. 119:11)Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You.
Those who live for (His Glory), find that His Word is more than enough, when it’s applied correctly and being obeyed. Amen!
God has so much to say in His Word and most importantly behind His Word, personally for you, and it starts with opening it!!! Amen…. (Heb. 4:12)For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.
This is why we need to be more than a Bible surface Christian, because God’s Word is truth! And, it teaches us about who He is, and who we are in Christ, and why we need the Holy Spirit, who was sent to help us. It dispels any lie you may have heard, and opens your mind and eyes to His Truth, the only truth…Amen! (John 17:17) Sanctify them (make them holy)by the truth; your word is truth.
Developing a relationship of your own with the Father and His Word, allows Him to want to speak to you behind it, and reveal things to you no one else knows, and give you an understanding beyond your own. God wants to gain your trust and your attention in every area of who He is, and allow you to gain in depth about His Kingdom of Light in which you were first created. ( Jer. 1:5)“I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.”
God wants to educate you spiritually, by teaching you how to become more and more like Jesus! Not by you just memorizing scripture to show you know more, NO! because truthfully it’s not about the knowledge of God’s Word that shows others you’re living it, but, it’s your fruit, the fruit of the Spirit that shows that…..it has nothing to do with what’s on the outside, but, everything to do with what’s on the inside! That’s what holds weight!! One thing a person cannot hide, and that is His Spirit living on the inside of you…Amen! (1Cor. 2:11)It is only our own spirit within us that knows all about us; in the same way, only God’s Spirit knows all about God.
Before we close out, I have a question, what’s up with your heart? If God was to search it right now today, would He see it as God aligned, or World aligned…
Would He see your mouth praising Him one minute, but cursing Him the next, would He see you being happy for another’s blessings to their face, but speaking words of jealousy behind their back? Just to let you know, God knows all, sees all, and hears all…. Amen! Don’t be that person in James 1:24 / ( Rom.12:2)Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.
God’s Word is transforming and it can transform us from believing the lies we have been told about Him and His Word, to the truth of what we read in His Word that we fasten ourselves to, and that is the truth. But! it is your responsibility to go beyond just hearing and reading, it must be applied! It must be duplicated ( lived out ) Amen.(James 1:22-25)Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do.( Psalm 119: 130)The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand.‘Learning your words gives wisdom and understanding.
God wants you to know that He loves you like no other, and how do you learn that? In His Word, through a personal relationship. That’s why He sent Jesus, for reconnection, And that’s why He sent the Holy Spirit! So, what’s the hold up?
We all had to start somewhere and that somewhere is in your action, not only in your talk, Amen! Make the decision today to choose Christ and hold on to Him as tight as possible for yourself, not for anyone else. (If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, say this simple prayer: Father God, in the Name of Jesus, I surrender all that I am to You. Take my life and have Your way with it Father, I repent of my sins and ask for Your forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and rose for my freedom. Today, I accept Jesus Christ Your son as my Lord and Savior, and I do believe that there is no other way to You, but through Him. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
From here on out, allow God’s Word to become your foundation, the foundation on which you want to grow from, learn from, obey from. Allow His voice to lead you, guide you and direct you into all the truth of what encompasses you in your everyday journey.
Having the Word of God as your FOUNDATION, is simply about how the Bible will help you experience the fullness of developing a relationship with Him. And, on how it has to become the anchor of that relationship.He and His Word are ONE…. feasting on it, on a daily basis, will assure you that your thinking is always aligned with His reality. It’s not about your Pastor’s reality, your Mama’s reality, and certainly not this World’s reality, but His only!
So, take time to make time, to truly listen to what God is saying to you personally, and intimately. Allow His truth to captivate and illuminate your heart and mind, by looking for opportunities to put it into practice. Hold on to this promise;(1 John 2:5)But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him:
If you have learned anything from this blog today, don’t ever look bac;k to what once was, look to what is now, and what He has for you, because all looking back is ever going to do, is get you on the outside of God’s reality, lost, being lied to, and being deceived with nothing but an outlook to everlasting damnation…….(Heb.10:26-27)If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.
