The Lord Gave You Authority…Use It!!

The Lord Gave You Authority…Use It!!

Question? Do you walk in the Authority given to you?

I’m speaking of that authority left to you and me, when Jesus returned to the Father? Huh, do you?

Did you know that God gave us (Dominion) and Jesus left us His (Authority)? The dominion given to us was spoken about in Gen.1:26 & 1:28 ( Genesis 1:26) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.

(Genesis 1:28) And God blessed them, and God said unto them, e fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.

And as for Jesus leaving us His Authority……that’s spoken about in ( Luke 10:19) which you’ll read later on in this post…

But for now, first things first, let’s get into “Our Authority”

We as believers should know what it is….

So, what is authority?

Simply put, it’s delegated power.

Delegated because it  belonged to someone else and was given to you and me. Given to us by Jesus.

When He said, “Therefore go and make,”  that’s when He handed it over to us, His followers…(Luke 10:19)Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.

But, before you’ll ever see the power behind this authority given  to you, you have to know that it belongs to you…

You have to know when you use this authority, it must be used by faith and in the name of JESUS!!

It’s only when, In The Name Of Jesus’ is used, is when the power power behind it will make things happen, and when real change takes place!!(Luke 10:17)When the seventy-two disciples returned, they joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons obey us when we use your name!”

Oh, and one more thing – we have to know how to use it…

Let’s take a look  at Peter’s example.

This is how it should be used (Acts 3:6)“Peter said, ‘Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk’. Did you catch the command?  “Rise Up And Walk.”  And, the man did just that, no hesitation, no questions, just obedience!!

Before you can even begin to operate in your authority, that mindset has to be on point…your mind has to be like Christ.

How do you do this?

And, what does that mean?

It’s just another way of  saying, think on good and lovable things…and get all the junk in your mind out, so you can keep running your race in Christ, and have the success He wants you and I to have.(Philippians 4:8)Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think on these things.

So, just think on God’s Word and read scriptures that renew your mind with the truth about what He says in His Word, and by doing that before you know it, all that stinkin’ thinkin’ is out of your way, and then you’ll be able to  experience the mind of Christ..

What I mean by that is this….your thinking process and attitude towards your given authority has to be believed, it has to be seen as a God Given Right!! (Luke 10:19)Look, I have given you authority over all the power of the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you.

And, that authority Jesus was talking about was delegated authority over all the power of the enemy.

This delegated authority is backed by the power of God!

So, it can’t be used just any Ol’ way you choose to use it. It’s not your power behind it, but God’s, so it not given to hurt, harm, or get someone back, oh no!

It’s that same loving, dicipllined, authority Jesus used(1 John 4:8)But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. Who is gracious, compassionate, slow to anger, and abounding in love and faithfulness… this is what His authority operates in!

I think that since we’re on the topic of authority, you should know this, The devil recognizes authority, and He can see it in you and me. He knows when you use it in faith and when you don’t…(1 Peter 5:8)Be serious! Be alert! Your adversary the Devil is prowling around like a roaring lion, looking for anyone he can devour.

This is why you cannot put your faith in your feelings ( how you feel), but your faith has to be in your authority! Your feelings cannot be involved.

This authority that you walk around with in Christ, isn’t a worldly authority. It’s not for you to try and go around using it in your own human strength. With this authority, you’re given the right to use it as long as it lines up with God’s Word.( John 17:17)Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth.

Use your authority for, putting a stop to the things that Satan is trying to ignite, or something that he’s already ignited that needs to be put out…..He said, I have given you “authority over, all the power of the enemy.”(Luke 10:19)

This authority given to us by Jesus shouldnt be looked upon as lightly as it does..

Check this out…

In (Ephesians 2:6)says, For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.

It says, (He) as the Head is seated there and (Us) as the Body are seated there, right next to God, in that place of power and authority!!

And, in Romans, it says that we are Heirs….someone legally entitled…..(Romans 8:17) And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.

As His Heirs, doesn’t that mean that everything that’s His – now belongs to us? Did I read that right?

Seated with God in Christ. We are seated with Him now y’all. Us! As believers, as His followers. We are the ones He uses to relinquish His power through! He left us with His authority!

I don’t  know about you, but that excites me!!

When you use your authority by speaking  His Word, and using His name, you better use it with an authoritative voice and a astronomical amount of faith. It should go a little something like this: “Sickness in my body, I command you to leave (Now!) in Jesus’ Name. And,  according to 1 Peter 2:24 – “By His stripes I am healed!” and you have no right to be here! I bind you up now, in Jesus name.

Jesus made it very clear in the Word, that His Name is the difference maker (Mark 16: 17- 18) And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.” to all authority. Only in His name….

You see anybody can go around saying, “in the name of Jesus” all day long, but it’s the faith in using that name that makes the difference. Because without faith it is impossible to please Him! (Hebrews 11:6) And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

The minute you come to the conclusion that – the name of Jesus gets things done, and that it’s the highest ranking name in the spiritual realm you’ll be better off (Philippians 2:9)Therefore, God elevated him to the place of highest honor and gave him the name above all other names.

Just ponder on that for a minute!

When we know and believe that we are seated with Him, and backed by His name. How can we not get the understanding that every knee has to bow, and come into submission to us on earth as well, as it did Him, when He was here…..(Philippians 2:10)that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.

And before you say, “whoa! Wait a minute,” you’re going a little too far now. Are you saying every knee, must bow to us also?” Yes! ( every knee, every demon, every disease, every principality). To us as well, because that authority is being used in His name, not ours….That’s Why!

Just take a look at what He said here(John 14:13‭-‬14)You can ask for anything in my name, and I will do it, so that the Son can bring glory to the Father. Yes, ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it!

So, what more needs to be said? You either believe it or not..(Romans 8:31)What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

Truth of the matter is this: When we walk this earth knowing our true identity in Christ, as we walking  in faith, and sinning not….. this is when we become POWERFUL! Not only powerful, but absolutely DANGEROUS, and  UNTOUCHABLE!!

The devil, our enemy, has not even a lick of a chance with us, and he knows it…(1John 5:18)We know that no children of God keep on sinning, for the Son of God keeps them safe, and the Evil One cannot harm them.

It’s those of us who walk around (with that, “I wish the devil would” mentality) that has that (Foe) afraid of us….his entire kingdom (of darkness) gets shaken!!

It’s that one of a kind power, that’s in you, that comes from God, that frightens Satan and his camp. Because you without Christ are just another one of his soldiers…..I’m just saying!

We have to renew our minds to this truth, and not be conformed to the world’s ways, suggestions, or orders, but only to God’s (Romans 12:2).Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.

What better way to say it!!

Facts: A believer’s ability to walk in the authority of Jesus, is for them to be dead set on, their true and total surrenderance to God in their own lives.(Matthew 16:24)Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.

Just remember this. It’s God’s power that’s  operating behind that  authority given to you by Jeaus, nevertheless, the power behind that authority is put to use because of the words spoken out of our mouth, and believed in, in our hearts. (Jeremiah 17:10)I, the LORD, search the minds and test the hearts of people. I treat each of them according to the way they live, according to what they do.”

So, know always, that it’s your faith you use in the name of Jesus that brings about the change. Read that again slower to gain that understanding…

( Part 2) coming next week….

Be Blessed….
