What Does The Word Eternal (Forever) Mean To You

What Does The Word Eternal (Forever) Mean To You

Eternal / Eternity what do those words mean to you when you hear them?

Well, for me, I was always taught it was something you’ll have when you go to heaven.

But did you know those words meant so much more for us, right now?

Eternal Life within the Bible is defined as a quality of life that is based on your relationship with God, and not only when you get to heaven.. but today, and somehow that ( today) part is never talked about.

The facts concerning Eternal Life, is knowing God now, building a relationship now, obeying His commands now through Jesus Christ ….the one He sent for us!(John 6:29)Jesus answered, “What God wants you to do is to believe in the one he sent.”

Remember they are one…(John 17:3)  And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

What that says is, if you don’t have Jesus, you can’t have God. (John 10:30)I and my Father are one.So, trying to get to know God through any other avenue besides way of Jesus, you can’t (John 14:6)Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

Trying to get to know Him through any other forms just turns into Cult like actions…..what others perceive to be true verses the Word of God..(Philippians 3:2)Look out for the dogs [the Judaizers, the legalists], look out for the troublemakers, look out for the false circumcision [those who claim circumcision is necessary for salvation].

Building a Spiritual / Biblical awareness of who God is the only thing that helps you unfold, understand, value, obey, remember, and expand your human thinking ability.(1 Corinthians 2:12-13)Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, so that we may know the things freely given to us by God, which things we also speak, not in words taught by human wisdom, but in those taught by the Spirit, combining spiritual thoughts with spiritual words.

So, let’s broading our understanding when it comes to Eternal Life, because it is taken place now, it all starts here (Hosea 4:6 )My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:

I was always taught, even from a young child, that Eternal Life meant to live forever with God in heaven, not living in it right now, on earth through Jesus today….

And, just to know that we can experience a taste of what Eternal Life is going to look like with God for all Eternity right now, by experiencing His power at work in us and through us today…is pretty exciting I would say!

Our physical bodies may be limited to what it can experience here on earth, but our Spirits in Christ, are already experiencing Eternal existence. We simply just need to grasp that.

The truth of it all, is that Eternal Life starts as soon as we are Born Again. It’s only because of our Salvation that we can be brought into God’s kingdom, which is Eternal now, not when you die. Your Eternal existence is right here, on a renewed, physical earth, in your renewed, physical body.(2 Peter 3:13)But we are looking forward to the new heavens and new earth he has promised, a world filled with God’s righteousness.

Often people want to know God’s call for their lives but do not want to do what God has already told them to do, which is to follow Him. That’s the first step.

To take this first step, we need to know the Bible and its message and implement the message in our life.

God’s purpose for Salvation is about us having a relationship with Him, not get Saved and do your own thing!!(Hebrews 10:26)Dear friends, if we deliberately continue sinning after we have received knowledge of the truth, there is no longer any sacrifice that will cover these sins.

God’s main reason for sending Jesus was to restore fellowship with us after the fall.(Luke 19:10)for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

It just so happens that as our relationship is restored with God through salvation, we gain one of the greatest benefits ever amd and thats is that we miss hell and gain heaven.

And, that His kingdom can be manifest on earth.

It’s part of His purpose for the here, and now, seen as a true living testimony, to who He is.

Living Eternal Life with our Father, starts right here on earth. His Eternal existence exceeds time, which means He has always existed and He always will.

So, that means that we as believers, also are not limited by time either Spiritually, because we are also Eternal…

Which means our existence with God started way before we got here on earth, and we regained connection by way of Jesus Christ after the fall…. (ponder on that for a moment) Jer.1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you.

Think about this….Jesus said, “Whoever believes in God, has passed from death to life already, see (John 5:24)“I assure you and most solemnly say to you, the person who hears My word [the one who heeds My message], and believes and trusts in Him who sent Me, has (possesses now) eternal life [that is, eternal life actually begins—the believer is transformed], and does not come into judgment and condemnation, but has passed [over] from death into life.

Only because of Jesus we have been freed from the curse of sin, that’s been causing death since humanity’s fall, and death no longer has its grip on us.(Romans 8:2)because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

And to go a little deeper…..when someone becomes a believer at the time of confession, life takes place, as well as death.

It’s one dying from the Spirit of sin and being Born Again to live life Eternal with the Father through His Son Jesus Christ….no longer connected to sin, but reconnected with God, in a more triumphant way!(Romans 14:8‭-‬9)If we live, it’s to honor the Lord. And if we die, it’s to honor the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord. Christ died and rose again for this very purpose—to be Lord both of the living and of the dead.

Your Spirit will never see death like your flesh…It will either spend Eternity in Heaven or in Hell…Every living person, whether a believer or not, will have an Eternal existence….

This is why we need to, not only read the Word of God, but study it with the help of the Holy Spirit who gives us peace and understanding.(Philippians 4:7)And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

I say that because, most people think, (those that have not confessed Jesus as Lord) that when they die their Spirits will be with God for Eternity, and, (No) that is not true. They will live for Eternity, but not with God!

However, those that did get Saved and obeyed what was requested by God, will spend Eternity with Him. But, with renewed bodies, and a purified spirit.(2 Corinthians 5:1)For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.

So, let’s enjoy Eternal Life with God right now today! A life offered to anyone who wants to live in relationship with Him. It’s when we stay connected with Him and abide in His Word, that we get to know Him better.

But, for those people who choose to live in rebellion to God, and don’t believe in His Son, this is not for you.(John 6:47)  “Very truly I tell you, the one who believes has eternal life.”

People who reject Him and don’t have a heart of repentance for their sins, unto the One and Only Lordship, and want to remain in their sinful way of life, will ultimately face Eternity in hell instead.

That’s the consequence of their choices here on earth.

Whoever does not want to live with God here and now, won’t live with Him in Eternity either.(John 3:36)  “ Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.”

If you’re waiting to get to heaven to start experiencing Eternal Life…that sucks cause God wants that with you and me right now…. If you are one that thinks like that I guess God sent Jesus for nothing!(John 3:16)For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Be Blessed….
