What is blessing and Anointing your home, and why is it important?

Well, have you ever heard of someone inviting their Pastor over to their new home to say a prayer over it, and “Anoint” it with Holy oil?

Well it’s like that, but it’s you doing it yourself …

You may be wondering, what is the purpose of doing something like that and how will it benefit me…..

Well, first and foremost, what is it to “Bless” or “Anoint”, and  what does  it mean?

The word “Anoint” means to smear or rub, and the word “Blessing” means to pray for God’s favor and protection.

Both is to be done simultaneously over something or someone with the “blessed oil,” that has been set apart for special moments.

Let me explain it to you a little better, like this.

It’s sorta the same way when you fall in love with Jesus and put your trust and faith in His name, and in a God you’ve never seen….

So, pretty much it’s the same way you have to put your trust and faith in that prayer you pray over that 100% Pure Olive Oil you plan on using to “Anoint” and  “Bless” certain things or people(1Peter 1:8)You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy.

If you research the bible, “Anointing Oil’ representsed the power of the Holy Spirit, and still does.(Luke 4:18)“The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, for he has anointed me to bring Good News to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim that captives will be released, that the blind will see, that the oppressed will be set free…. and in (Numbers 3:3)The sons of Aaron were anointed and ordained to minister as priests.

Your action of using “Holy Anointing Oil,” to bless and anoint yourself, or something other than yourself, also represents the faith you have in God’s ability to protect you and your home as well. (Matthew 21:22) And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.”

I am a living witness that It will for sure cleanse, protect, and keep evil away, if you believe.

And, once that “Oil” has been blessed, consecrated, and set aside unto the Lord, when you do pray and anoint that person or thing, those evil spirits that are there will know they are not welcomed, not because of the oils use alone, but because of that blessing prayed over it, in Jesus name as well.

By “Anointing” your home from top to bottom and room to room with “Anointing oil,” in the name of Jesus, those unwanted spirits must flee…..

Your faith and belief behind the use of that “Anointing Oil”  and ” Blessing” will for sure drive out evil spirits, even the ones that try and hide. 

You may be asking yourself “why do I need to smear or rub  anything around my home, on me, or any of my belongings.” Or better yet need to pray for God’s protection or favor.

And, truth be told, you don’t have to. But as a believer(why not) ?

if you know the power that the name of Jesus carries, and all the benefits that’s  released from the Spiritual realm, into the Natural realm because  of the use of His name, seriously why not? (Isaiah 10:27) “It shall come to pass in that day That his burden will be taken away from your shoulder, And his yoke from your neck, And the yoke will be destroyed because of the anointing oil.”

This word “Anoint” or “Anointing” where did it all start from, and why we as believers should follow the suit when it comes to “Anointing” your home or yourself.

It all started in the book of Exodus where God tells Moses to build and anoint unto Him a Tabernacle…..

Exodus 25:8‭-‬9 “Have the people of Israel build me a holy sanctuary so I can live among them. You must build this Tabernacle and its furnishings exactly according to the pattern I will show you. God also instructed Moses in how to make this Anointing Oil, in
(Exodus 30:22‭-‬26)

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Collect choice spices—12 1 / 2 pounds of pure myrrh, 6 1 / 4 pounds of fragrant cinnamon, 6 1 / 4 pounds of fragrant calamus, and 12 1 / 2 pounds of cassia —as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel. Also get one gallon of olive oil. Like a skilled incense maker, blend these ingredients to make a holy anointing oil. Use this sacred oil to anoint the Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant.

And in (Exodus 40:1-9) is where God told Moses to anoint the Tabernacle ( tent – dwelling place of God) with Anointing Oil. (Vs.9)Then you shall take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and everything that is in it, and consecrate it and all its furnishings; and it shall be holy.

With all fairness can we say, In this World today people go through all kinds of measures to keep their possessions, as well as their families protected from predators?

They go so far as to spend hundreds and even thousands of dollars, by using security systems, security guards, guard dogs, and purchasing “beware of signs,” etc.

 But, do you think  people really take on that type of thought process when it comes to spiritually protecting their homes, and families from evil spirits, coming in and setting up camp in their homes, and even their lives? Of course not…

So what do you have to do in order to receive the presence of the Holy Spirit in your home, as well as your life for protection? 

As a believer in God, and follower of Christ, protection has been promised to you all throughout the Bible, but you also have a part to play in that protection.

You’re part is to believe when you pray, and to pray like you’ve already received it, and be obedient to what God tells you (Mark 11:24)Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours….no more than that…

Listen, by reading God’s Word and staying connected to Him spiritually through prayer, faith, love, and obedience, we place ourselves under the protection of the Almighty (Psa.91) read it….

If we are honest with ourselves, we know that it is not us, in our own will, that exudes the power and authority to reign in all of His Gloriousness, oh no! it is Him, He’s the One with the power to defeat the evil one. It’s all in the name!! The name of Jesus Christ!!

So if we’re going  to win, we must make the decision to surrender our lives to the Lord once and for all….And, stop playing games!!

Surrendering unto God is you showing complete faith in Him and belief in His promises..(Matthew 18:3)  “I tell you the truth, unless you turn from your sins and become like little children, you will never get into the Kingdom of Heaven.

However, activating your Spiritual protection must be put into operation with your trust and faith in the Word of God, and by doing so that will place you  under that umbrella of protection spoken about in (Psalms 91).

If it was that easy and you having absolutely nothing to do on your part, anyone could receive it, including the sinners, those with no connection to God whatsoever…

So… why not start  by Anointing your home with Gods “Blessing,” and “Anointing Oil,” as God instructed Moses to do with the Tabernacle in (Exodus 40)….  

Or, why not just be obedient to God’s voice and do it because He is telling you to. 

Yes, He will tell you to “Anoint” your home, yourself, or something in your possession, if need be.

How do I know? Because He has told me to do so, on more than one occasion.

Whether that “Blessing” and “Anointing” was for me or someone else.

And remember, you don’t have to understand why God is telling you to do that specific thing.  It’s for you to obey, do it, and benefit from it.(Psalms 32:8)I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will advise you with My eye upon you.

And, just in case you have questions about the Anointing Oil, it’s just 100% pure olive oil you purchase. Yes, you can purchase all the other ingredients God commanded Moses to get, but once you pray over that pure oil and ask God to bless it, it is no longer just olive oil…

That oil that you asked God to bless is now sanctified, consecrated, and spiritually pure… put off to the side and only being used for nothing other than “Anointing” a thing or person. Yep, that Anointing Oil prayed over, blessed and ready for use, under God’s power and ability in it, to protect, reside, and make holy, in Jesus Name.
