The Next Chapter

It's been a little over a week since I moved to my new place in Daytona Beach, but it already feels like home.  As I've been out and about taking care of business I'm asked the same question over and over again.. so what made you move to Daytona?  My Answer is always the same, God sent me here.  It's been really amazing to see how He's already made provision for me in this new place.  I'm excited about what's coming but also excited about what this means.

Since stepping into my call of ministry this will be my first time in "foreign" land.  Everything I've done other than blogging was done in Lexington and Louisville.  At times I felt like Jesus, needing to shake the dust off my feet and carry on to a place where I would be better received.  I'm not knocking Lexington but the truth is, sometimes your home isn't the place for your gift.  Proverbs 18:16 says that a man's gift will make room for him and bring him before great men.  I'm confident that this is the beginning of my gift making room for me.

People kept asking me if I was afraid to be that far from home, if I was worried about starting over, nervous about going without a job and so many questions of fear and doubt.  The thing I've learned is simple.  When God sends you, He has already provided everything you need once you get where you're going.  God has already started to put some great kingdom connections in place and reminded me that I've still got a great support system that will travel!

When God sent the children of Israel into the promised land He didn't give them a laundry list of things they needed before they could go. He made a way of escape, kept them while in the wilderness and provided everything they needed on the way.  I'm giving you the short and simple version here but I do want to pull out one thing that was key while they were on the journey.  While they were in the wilderness God gave them some very specific guidelines concerning provision in Exodus 16. Basically He told them don't take more manna than they (their household) could eat in that setting or it would go bad by morning.  In other words, take one day at a time.  Don't worry about tomorrow, I'm giving you everything you need for today right now. The key was obedience!

I look at my new chapter the same way.  I was never worried, never nervous about moving or being away from my family and friend, a job, place to live or meeting new people... Why?  Because I understood that God would give me exactly what I need each day. Psalm 68:19 says,

Blessed be the Lord, who daily loadeth us with benefits, even the God of our salvation. Selah.

Those benefits aren't just monetary.  Each morning I get new grace, new mercy, another chance to Give Him glory, confidence, safety, a sound mind, power, love, discernment, and authority just to name a few.  If God has given you some instructions that you're afraid to step out on I hope you'll remember this post and be empowered to take a leap of faith and remember that obedience is better than sacrifice.

Be blessed!
