How to See Energy

Tags: energy

Everything in reality is made of Energy. But for most of us this can be a hard concept to comprehend because we are conditioned to perceiving the world as very real and solid. As children we are taught, for example, that a table is a table, and a plate is a plate, and that these two things exist separately from each other when, in fact, they do not. We can understand the concept of energy as the one and only component of reality, but it is hard to grasp it without the experience of it. For most of us, it is just one more thing that we file in the back of our minds and forget. But you can experience life in this way. It’s actually very easy to see energy, and it only takes a minute.

How To See Energy

Here is a simple exercise you can try that will prove to you that things are not as solid as they seem:

Find a quiet, darkened space where you will not be disturbed, preferably one where there is a blank wall.

  1. Close your eyes and relax. Get yourself to a calm state of being.
  2. Keeping your eyes closed, picture in your mind that there is a very bright, white sun right in front of you.
  3. Breathe in deeply as you picture yourself inhaling the white light of the sun. Imagine that every time you inhale, you are pulling the light into your body. Imagine that with each breath your body becomes whiter and brighter, just like the sun. Do this for 3 or 4 breath cycles.
  4. Take a few more breaths as you picture the room you are in also filling with bright, white light.
  5. Open your eyes and look to the blank wall or darkened space before you.

You should be able to see what looks like static electricity that covers everything. You may see tiny, shimmering particles of light, or perhaps you might notice what looks like a smudgy film that seems to be covering everything. It can be likened to viewing a television channel that is turned on, but is not tuned in to a program, so the screen appears grainy and flickering. Some people describe the static as white or gray in color, while others see all the colors of the rainbow, darting about in little specks. Whatever it looks like to you, just notice what you normally do not – which is that there seems to be a quality to the world that appears energetic in nature. This is energy, and now you can see it.

A New Perspective

The more often you practice this exercise, the more energy you will be able to see. You will notice, for example, that there are places where energy has collected and grown stagnant, as in a room where no one has opened a window in a while, or perhaps where people have just had an argument. You might eventually see that the objects you thought were solid now seem to have an ethereal, wispy quality to them. You may even be able to observe the movement of energy, giving you a unique perspective about the places and people you might want to encounter, and the ones you will want to avoid.

Once you learn to view the world from the perspective that everything is energy, your life will start to change. You will eventually be able to see energy all of the time, without the need to do the visualization and breathing exercise. You will gain experiential knowledge that you are, indeed, made of the same stuff as everything and everyone else in this world. You will see the connection of it all, and therefore the boundaries you thought were yours will begin to dissolve.  This will open new pathways for you to explore, in turn expanding your consciousness and broadening the scope of who and what you believe yourself to be.

This is a good thing for all of us, to see ourselves in this way, because it means that it is possible for us to learn to see the common denominator underneath what we thought were impossible differences. We can start to realize that we are all connected to, and affected by, each other, because we exist in the same giant pool of energy.  We can learn to see the world as part of ourselves, and thus treat it as such. Who knows? Maybe we can even discover how to get along. If nothing else, this is a great way to teach us not to take life so seriously. After all, it’s all just static!
