Welcome to the Three of Pentacles. This is where we learn, plan and build together. The card represents teamwork, collaboration, synergy, and the desire to work together. It’s time to take your big idea, talent, and courage and take action!  

What can you do to make this happen? Be open to being teachable and to making the mistakes that come along with Learning. Whether you’re deepening your learning of current skills or expanding your knowledge in a completely new area, you need the help of others to help you grow.

Teamwork Makes the Dreamwork

The goal here is to perfect a skill. And, by perfect, I don’t mean perfection – that’s a whole other topic. The vibe of this card is to learn by doing (and sometimes making mistakes) while surrounded by teachers and guides who can share their knowledge with you.

As one of the few cards in the tarot deck that includes a group, the Three of Pentacles models the benefit of contributing to a group, going over possible problems, and achieving more than what’s expected. Three is the union of the numbers before it (one and two). One is the beginning and initiation. Two is duality and choice. In the three, we find expansion, creativity, communication, and wisdom.

Pentacles are resources, our bodies, our finances, and whatever has value to you. Together, the Three of Pentacles is working in the community, building a foundation, and showing proficiency in your work. In love, the Three of Pentacles is a good solid foundation to build a relationship. It is not the ‘sweep you off your feet’ energy but is lasting and real. In career/work, this card shows that slow, steady, responsible, and consistent action will ultimately yield successful results.

There is Always Something New to Learn

I’m a self-proclaimed lifelong learner and forever student, so I am always interested in taking a class and learning something new. As a curious tarot and divination reader, my interest often skews to something in the esoteric arena. 

As you may know, there are hundreds, if not thousands, of different tarot, oracle, kipper, gypsy, Lenormand, and many other type decks out there. In my dreams, I know how to use them all! But in reality, I realize that each system takes time, effort, and dedication to build the skill.

I recently enrolled in a class on a very old deck system that is new to me. And while some of the cards and meanings have similarities to the system I’m most familiar with, MANY do not. So learning this new/old deck brought me back to the classroom where I am feeling very comfortable raising my virtual hand and asking for clarity. Working together with my fellow classmates, there is no competition or judgment, only encouragement, and fun. I wish the same for you as we step into exploring the possibilities of what’s next together.

Questions to consider:

• What skills are you improving?
• Do you know what it would mean for you to level up?
• What’s the plan?
• Do you know the type of help that you need?
• Are you a team player?
• How does creativity play a role in your life?
• Which of the 3 figures do you identify with and why?  

Your work and skills are deeply meaningful and they give a sense of your place in the world. Three of Pentacles brings synergy or a chance to combine your efforts with another (or others) to produce a combined effort that would be greater than the sum of separate efforts. Find the synergy.

This month, I challenge you to:

• Work as a team
• Contribute to a group
• Nail down the details
• Be an ant, not a grasshopper
• Review beforehand
• Be prepared
• Meet your goals
• Prove your (new) ability
• Commit to the job
• Be competent
• Get the job done

Do what you do best. Stay in your zone of genius. Big things are happening.
