My Yoga in Rishikesh by Margurite

Yoga in Rishikesh makes sense on multiple levels. It is the world capitol of Yoga, to learn a new language or in this case a new lifestyle. Immersion is the fastest way. Immersion here means hearing the mantras you’re trying to learn on every corner. Understanding prana by living close to nature and seeing the connectedness between all things is easier with the Himalayas, Ganga and India’s ancient culture right at your doorstep. Yoga in Rishikesh makes sense from a material world perspective also. The cost of completing a 200 hour yoga teacher training course is the same or less than doing it in the United States. Airfare and tuition is about the same as just tuition stateside. In Rishikesh, it includes housing, meals, transportation etc. Yoga in Rishikesh also allows the time to really concentrate and absorb your studies. Most of the distractions here are yoga related. A few of my favourites were white water rafting on the Ganga, watching the monkey hooligans make mischief, working as  a movie extra, meditating in a Himalayan cave and visiting temples where the levels of devotion is awe inspiring.
