Sri Asthrapureeswarar is a small Temple in Anoor. But packs a punch. The temple has a vast history. Moreover, temple is reverred to Lord Shiva. The Story of Sri Asthrapureeswarar goes back to Mahabaratha. Furthermore, also called Sri Asthrapureeswarar Samedha Soundaranayaki Temple.

Reaching Sri Asthrapureeswarar temple

Then a small trek to astrapurisvara temple. Not small, just 5000 meters walk. Along vallipuram road to Anoor.

Sri Asthrapureeswarar Temple

Obviously the main deity is Lord Shiva. Moreover, as Sri Asthrapureeswarar in temple. Along with Mother Parvathi in a separate shrine. Consort as Soundaranayaki in the Temple. The temple stands in the river of time.

Inscriptions of Sri Asthrapureeswarar Temple

The Annor Village forgoten in time. It is the home of few poets. Famous poets as Kootruva Nayanar and Pugazzhendi resided here.
