Tips for a Successful Express Entry Application in Canada

In this post, we will take a dive into some useful Tips for a Successful Express Entry Application in Canada. The Canadian Experience Class (CEC), the Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP), and the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP) are all run by the Express Entry application management system. Candidates for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) are already qualified for at least one Express Entry program.

The IRCC just put out a report that sums up Express Entry statistics for 2021, which was a special year for the program. The report says that 114,431 ITAs were given out in 2021. All of these were program-specific draws for the PNP and the CEC, and no ITAs were given out to candidates for the FSWP or the Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP).

The report also says that all program draws were put on hold beginning in December 2020 to help clear up the backlog caused by COVID-19 travel limits and border closures. IRCC, on the other hand, kept giving ITAs to candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) until September 2021, when CEC draws were also stopped.

Over half of ITAs, 64%, were given to people between the ages of 20 and 29. Candidates in this age range get 100 CRS points under the Comprehensive Ranking System. After the age of 30, candidates get less points.

Also, the study says that most ITAs were given to people who were already living in Canada as temporary residents because of the breaks. But some ITAs were still given to people who lived outside the U.S.

Top Five Countries With The Highest Number of Canadian ITAs.

The top five countries includes:
People already living inside Canada 102,806 ITAs, Immigrants from India 3,826 ITAs, From Nigeria 1,432, The USA 806, and from the People’s Republic of China 687 ITAs.

7th Express Entry Draw of 2023 by IRCC

The Express Entry Management System helped Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) do six draws in 2023, and a seventh draw was just announced today. In this seventh draw, the IRCC invited 7,000 people who had at least a 490 on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS).

This draw has more ITAs than the last all-program draw on January 18, which had 5,500 candidates called. To put it in perspective, before 2023, all Express Entry draws between July and November 2022 were all-program draws that called more than 1,000 candidates each time and grew as the minimum CRS score went down.

Program for Express Entry Application.

There are three main parts to Canada’s Express Entry program:

The Federal Skilled Worker Program (FSWP)

This is for people who have worked in a skilled job for more than a year full-time or the equivalent in a skilled job in the last 10 years. In this program, applicants must prove to the IRCC that they have enough money to help them live in Canada.

The Federal Skilled Trades Program (FSTP)

This is for skilled workers who want to stay in the country permanently because they are skilled at their job.

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC):

This is for skilled workers who have worked in Canada and want to stay there permanently. Basically, the candidates should have worked in Canada while they were temporary residents with permission to work and gained work experience.

The seventh draw broke the trend of program-specific draws that had been happening for the past two months. Since the last all-program draw, there have been three rounds of offers for PNP candidates only and one for FSWP candidates only. The most recent draw was only for PNP, and on March 1, only 697 people got ITAs.
