2 Things That Never Fail To Get The Attention Of God From Christians Anytime, Anywhere & Any Day

Even though God is all-powerful, he cannot attend to everything on earth. After creating man, he left so many things undone. In fact, it was Adam who named all the animals on earth at that time.

In addition, there were no aeroplanes,  cars, jets, Tables, Chairs, phones, laptops and several other useful things, but today through the knowledge he gave human beings, these things are now known all over the world.

We have over 5 billion people on earth, and surprisingly everyone is trying to get the Attention of God for one thing or the other.

New churches, mosques, even traditional centers open on a daily basis with the sole aim of getting the attention of this same Mighty God.

While some people call him in the morning, some do in the afternoon and some people call at night and midnight. There are people who even call him almost all the time.

May I bring this to your notice that God can hear all of them at the same time. To the extent of his incomprehensible power, he can even answer all of their requests at the same time, that is if their requests get his attention at the same time. However, a lot of people just pray for years without getting the attention of God. Most people won’t even believe there are millions — if not billions — of prayer requests that don’t even come close to heaven, talk less of getting the attention of the most high God.

The distance of the earth to heaven is unimaginable. You can imagine some one trying to call another person in a far away country without the use of a telephone. Anyone who tries that in your presence will be suspected of having a psychiatric problem. But with faith, one can call God who is in heaven and the call will get through to him.

Mind you, the only problem is as you are calling him, billions of people are also calling him…perhaps for the same reason or different reason.

The person who gets is attention most get attended to immediately while others will have to hold on, no matter how long it takes because in heaven, there is no such thing as time. In the process some people will have to drop their calls because they feel it is taking too long to get a response from this everly busy father.

Let me show you an instance in the bible…

5 But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the Lord had shut up her womb

6 And her adversary also provoked her sore, for to make her fret, because the Lord had shut up her womb.

7 And as he did so year by year, when she went up to the house of the Lord, so she provoked her; therefore she wept, and did not eat.

8 Then said Elkanah her husband to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? am not I better to thee than ten sons?

9 So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the Lord.

10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore.

11 And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

12 And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the Lord, that Eli marked her mouth.

13 Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.

14 And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee.

15 And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord.

16 Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.

17 Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.

18 And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.

19 And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the Lord, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the Lord remembered her.

1 Samuel 1:5-19

The long verses you just finished reading showed Hannah had been going to Shiloh for "years" with  her household to worship and sacrifice to God. Notably, she must have been asking God for child as she was barren.

As if barreness was not enough to make any woman sad, her rival mocked her on their yearly visit to Shiloh. But on this fateful year, she couldn’t stomach it again.

Then, she called on God with the bitterness of her heart with tears on her face. It was after this heart-felt prayer that God remembered her.

In case you did not notice what got the attention of God.

Read verse 10 again…

And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore.

You won’t believe it if I tell you that it was her tears — coming from a bitter and sincere heart —  that got the attention of God. If you don’t believe me, let me show you something in 2 Kings 20:5…

“Return and tell Hezekiah the leader of My people, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer,

I have seen your tears; surely I will heal you. On the third day you shall go up to the house of the Lord.

Take a look at the text I bold above. God sent Prophet Isaiah to tell King Hezekiah that he would die by the sickness he had.

What a sad message from God through the mouth of his powerful prophet!!!

If it were to be our generation, some people would argue with the prophet. But come to think of it, who would have argued with a man like prophet Isaiah?

Immediately King Hezekiah heard the message, he didn’t rebuke it after all it was not coming from Satan but from God; instead, he went straight to God in prayer.

As he prayed and thought of how he would die…tears rolled down his face. A whole king cried like a baby and God called back his prophet who had not even gotten out of the palace even though he was already on his way out.

God wanted us to get this point so many had ignore and still ignoring that's why the tears statement was recorded.

The Almighty God told Prophet Isaiah to tell him he had heard his prayer, and also to tell him he had seen his tears.

God don’t just talk. If he could mention it, it means there’s more to tears they most people know.

You won’t understand what I mean by being moved by tears except you are a father or mother nursing a child. No father or mother can stand the tears of his or her child when the tears come out of the eyes of the child WITH ALL SINCERITY.

Some times, if not all the time, father seems to be rigid. Nothing seems to move them.

My brother and sister, the day a rigid father sees the uncontrollable tears of his or her child in all sincerity, he will be moved beyond his imagination.

Just as it is in human, so it is in our heavenly Father. In fact, he loves us more than any earthly parents.

All the while, Hannah had been praying for a child, but all to no avail. After several years, that particular year she cried and tears came from her bitter heart due to the fact that she could not longer take all the insults from her second wife. Then, as if she had never pray before...God remembered her.

What a testimony and earth-shattering discovery!!!

That reminds me of another scenario in the new Testament. A father,  whose son was possessed of a mute Spirit that often threw him in water and fire so as to destroy him, came to Jesus with a BELIEVING HEART. Unfortunately, he could not get through to Jesus, so he decided to take him to his disciples.

On getting to them, they couldn’t cure the boy. That affected the FAITH of the boy’s father. His believe in the deliverance of his boy reduced... considering what happened before Jesus disciples and also with how long the boy had been in the unimaginable situation of intense torture by the mute demon.

When the father went to Jesus…read what Jesus said to him below…

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”

Mark 9:23

Jesus told the man it will take his belief to make the miracle happen. As the man remembered his doubt on the power of God due to the inability of the disciples to cure the boy with the untold hardship the boy had suffered in his presence, immediately…read what happened next below…

Immediately the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!”

Mark 9:24

Can you see what happened to a grown-up man there? He cried and tears rolled down his face because he knew his faith was already mixed with some doubts. Seeing his helpless situation, he cried, and Jesus looked away from his unbelief (quite unusual of him) and cured the boy.

So, the two things that get the attention of God anytime, any day and anywhere are:

1. Tears from the eyes of a sincere child of God (it means you must be his child or your tears will be a waste of time and energy…GIVE YOUR LIFE TO CHRIST NOW).

2. Groaning — that is the deep sound that comes from someone who is in pain — of a child of God (Exodus 2:24).
