Being Approved By God Not The Masses

Being Approved By God Not The Masses

Dear friends,

I hope this message finds you in good health and high spirits. Today, I want to discuss a topic that is of utmost importance, one that lies at the core of our faith and belief in God. It is the concept of being approved by God, rather than seeking the approval of the masses.

In today’s world, it is easy to fall into the trap of seeking validation and acceptance from others. We often find ourselves striving to fit in, conforming to societal norms and expectations, and desperately trying to gain the approval of our peers. However, as followers of Christ, we must remember that our ultimate goal is not to be accepted by the world, but rather to be approved by God.

The Bible provides us with numerous passages that emphasize the significance of seeking God’s approval over the approval of the masses. In 2 Timothy 2:15, the apostle Paul instructs his protégé, Timothy, saying, “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” Here, Paul emphasizes the importance of being approved by God as we diligently work in His service.

Furthermore, Jesus Himself spoke about the dangers of seeking the approval of others. In Matthew 6:1, He warns, “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.” Jesus cautions against seeking recognition for our acts of righteousness solely to gain the approval of others. Instead, He encourages us to do good works with a sincere heart, seeking the approval and reward that comes from God alone.

The apostle Paul, in his letter to the Galatians, addresses this issue as well. In Galatians 1:10, he boldly declares, “For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.” Paul’s words remind us that if we are solely focused on pleasing people and gaining their approval, we may compromise our commitment to serving Christ wholeheartedly.

In today’s society, where the pursuit of popularity and the desire to be liked on social media have become prevalent, it is crucial for us to examine our motives. Are we seeking the approval of others above all else, or are we prioritizing our relationship with God? It is essential to reflect on our actions, thoughts, and decisions, ensuring they align with God’s will rather than seeking the temporary approval of the masses.

When we shift our focus from gaining worldly approval to seeking God’s approval, we experience freedom and authenticity. We no longer need to conform to societal pressures or compromise our values to fit in. Our worth and identity are not determined by the number of likes or followers we have, but by our faith in Christ and our obedience to His teachings.

Dear friends, I urge you to remember that being approved by God is far more important than the fleeting approval of the masses. When we seek God’s approval, we align ourselves with His divine plan for our lives. We find comfort in the knowledge that God sees and values our efforts, even when the world may not. We can trust in His love and acceptance, knowing that His opinion is the one that truly matters.

In the book of Romans, the apostle Paul beautifully articulates this truth. Romans 12:2 states, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” This verse serves as a powerful reminder that our minds need renewal and transformation. We must continually evaluate our thought patterns and align them with God’s will, rather than conforming to the values and expectations of the world.

To truly be approved by God, we must seek His guidance and align our lives with His Word. We must prioritize spending time in prayer, studying the Scriptures, and seeking His wisdom. Psalm 119:105 declares, “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.” When we immerse ourselves in God’s Word, we gain clarity and direction, enabling us to make choices that are pleasing to Him, regardless of popular opinion.

Being approved by God also means living a life of obedience to His commandments. Jesus affirms this in John 14:15 when He says, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments.” Our love for God is demonstrated through our obedience to His teachings. Rather than seeking the approval of others, we should strive to please God in all that we do.

However, it is important to note that seeking God’s approval does not mean isolating ourselves from the world or neglecting our responsibilities. Jesus instructs us in Matthew 5:16, “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” As followers of Christ, we are called to be salt and light in the world, impacting those around us with the love and truth of the Gospel. Our goal is not to withdraw from society, but to engage with it while remaining steadfast in our commitment to God.

In our pursuit of God’s approval, we may face opposition and criticism from the masses. Jesus warns His disciples in John 15:18-19, “If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.” We should not be discouraged when we face rejection or ridicule for our faith. Instead, we can take comfort in knowing that we are following in the footsteps of our Lord, who was also despised and rejected by the world.

Dear friends, in a world that values popularity, social validation, and conformity, let us strive to be different. Let us prioritize being approved by God rather than seeking the approval of the masses. May we stand firm in our faith, guided by His Word, and led by His Spirit. May our actions, words, and decisions reflect our commitment to living according to His will, even when it is counter-cultural.

In conclusion, being approved by God should be our highest aim and deepest desire. The opinions and approval of the masses may be fickle and transient, but God’s approval is eternal and unwavering. Let us seek His approval by aligning our lives with His Word, obeying His commandments, and living as shining examples of His love and grace. May we find our worth, purpose, and identity in Him alone, and may our lives be a testimony to His glory.

I pray that this message resonates with your hearts and encourages you to prioritize seeking God’s approval above all else. May it inspire you to live a life that honors Him and draws others to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. May God’s love and approval fill your lives abundantly as you walk in obedience and faithfulness.

With love and blessings,

Shalom
