China is running wild with its lunar program, predicting the possibility of human settlement within the next six years. Will it be true?

China plans to build a Moon base in six years. The station will be powered by Nuclear Energy and built at the south pole of the Earth satellite. According to the Chinese news portal Caixin, the lunar base will probably be powered by nuclear energy, and its construction will be in charge of the 6, 7 and 8 missions. According to Wu Weiran, chief designer of China’s lunar exploration program, astronauts will probably be able to reach the moon within 10 years. He said, “We are now developing a new system that uses nuclear energy to meet the long-term high power energy demands of our lunar station”.

According to Weiran, nuclear energy is capable of meeting the high-power energy needs of the lunar station in the long term. China has increased its ambitions in space in recent years, sending probes to the Moon, building its space station and establishing its own goals on Mars. The plans positioned the country as a direct competitor to the US. NASA has a probe on the red planet and seeks to send new astronauts to the Moon later this decade, through the Artemis missions – the first since the end of the Apollo program in the 1970s.

Now the idea was executed in science fiction films, the possibility of having human beings in orbit is gaining more and more strength. Last Sunday, Howard Hu, director of NASA’s Orion aerospace program, said that by the end of this decade, astronauts will be able to live and work on the Moon.
