Protector of Sins

“He that becomes protector of sin shall surely become its prisoner” ~ St. Augustine

Depravity. The word Depravity describes a deep, moral corruption that has resided in the hearts of Humanity since the original sin of Adam and Eve.

There is nothing on this Earth that depravity has not tainted, including, the moral understanding of humanity. Many times within Scripture, God makes His disgust with the depravity of humanity known. Additionally, He indicates what happens as humanity continues to live in this illness without ever ascertaining a remedy.

Some Biblical examples include:

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!” ~ Isaiah 5:20

“He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the Lord” ~ Proverbs 17:15

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away” ~2 Timothy 3:1-5

Hell has an overcrowded population. The world has an immense population of seared minds (Jeremiah 17:9). But what a good God, who looks at such a dismal and backwards world, who constantly calls the good things of God evil and the evil things Godly, and says, “I still love them.”

“I still love these people so much that I am willing to save people from their disease.” And not only does God restore the fallen nature of humanity- He uplifts them and raises their status. This goes to the extent as having us be coheirs with Christ (Romans 8:17)!

Christ’s work saves the seared. God’s work save those who are near Him. God’s work saves the saved. God’s work saves. It all just takes a move to stop protecting sin and relinquish it to the sacrificial act of Jesus Christ.

It really is as easy as admitting, “Jesus I believe you came to die, be buried, and rise again, so that I can be saved. This is what was required. This is what I believe. Amen (1 Corinthians 15:3-4).

Then no longer do you protect your Sins. Christ protects you from your sins with His blanket of righteousness.

What a good God!
