Delegation

“If you want to do a few small things right, do them yourself. If you want to do great things and make a big impact, learn to delegate” ~ John C. Maxwell

Delegation is a beautiful thing. When one delegates, they focus on the biggest responsibilities manageable for one person and all else, they give others around them the ability to make solve and make their own way. Good bosses are good delegates. Knowing what to assign for a greater effect is crucial to living unto a unified purpose.

You know, this is true of the business world, but God also has a knack for delegation. After all, we are created unto good works (Ephesians 2:10). In every Dispensation (the dispensation of law, grace, etc.) God gave authority to a Spiritual leader and that leader, by direction of the Holy Spirit delegated roles to others.

In the Dispensation of Law, Moses received commandments from God, and Moses delegated down the roles of Levite priests and the civil crowd. For the Dispensation of the Grace of God, God delegated the message of the Gospel to the Apostle Paul, who then instructed the Body of Christ to live as ambassadors unto the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-20).

So indeed, God delegated! Now do not get it confused, God giving Paul authority did not subtract any authority from Himself, but it did tell the Body of Christ that their are words that they are to particularly esteem (Ephesians 2:20). The Words now make our Scripture.

You have a role to play in this delegation however. You’re role is to head instruction and take the Gospel with you everywhere you go (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). To make known the mystery of Godliness and live according to the Word (1 Timothy 3:16).

Delegate every chance you can in life, but never delegate away your purpose. Keep the main thing, the main thing, and share the grace of God!
