Aloe Me to Tell You Something

“Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ” ~ Ephesians 4:13

Aloe Vera is a fascinating succulent that is known for its beautiful exterior, easy going nature, and beneficial interior chemical nature. Aloe Vera is used in moisturizers, ointments, sun screen, sun burn relief, exfoliators, make-up, make-up removers, and so much more.

Despite the benefits, only a limited number of Aloe plants can offer such wonderful benefits. That is, the mature plants. Young aloe plants produce a much less efficient substance and is generally unfavorable for those harvesting it.

Another problem with this truth is that Aloe Vera are known for their slow maturation cycles. The plants grow from “pups” and take many years, often as long as 3-4 years to produce anything beneficial. Often times, the best things take a while to prepare.

Saying this, I beg you as the Christian to give Grace to those who are experiencing God’s grace new and afresh. I am indeed talking about new Christians. All too often, they find salvation and older Christians immediately expect them to change every little detail about their life in a matter of weeks.

But no, Scripture is beautiful in that God’s Word offers grace and we go through the process of renewal and transformation (Romans 12:1-2). God’s grace bears with us as we grow and their is no condemnation for those in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:1; 2 Peter 3:18)

Have grace and offer help! It may take a while to see the benefits and power of their transformation, but just like Aloe, know that it can take a while. But the process of sanctification is just as beautiful for you to watch as it is for the believer who is changing (2 Timothy 2:21). Be a sweet relief greater than any aloe to these people as Christ is to you!

Give grace!
