Chemistry in the Bible #1: God Over All

The God of the world-

Is the God of Science. He created the Earth in all of its brilliance. His design sustains life.

Who here, looks down and tells their heart to beat or their lungs to process air? The planets and stars are placed perfectly. This design is far from mere coincidence.

It is suggested that life began from a coincidental explosion of one minute particle and that since that particle, the universe continues to expand! Nonetheless, as physicists and astronomers excitedly talk about the possibilities of someday “proving” the Big Bang Theory they seem to disregard something.

Or rather many things.

First of all, the Law of Conservation of Mass. This Law (not a theory mind you) states that mass (everything that has matter and occupies space) cannot be created nor destroyed. The Bible supports this Law, with only one exception (Ecclesiastes 1:9).

God did (Genesis 1:1), He is in the business of making the believer new (2 Corinthians 5:17), and God will defy the Law of Conservation of Mass again (Revelations 21:1).

Only God is able to make something from nothing, therefore God’s divine power is the exception to the Law of Conservation of Mass. The Big Bang holds no divinity and holds no exception.

God is the God of the world, science, and the elements in which the world and universe are composed.

As we embark on this series and explore what the Bible says about the elements on the Periodic Table, I encourage you to evaluate God and science. I am sure that you will see that God is sovereign above all. He set the scientific laws in motion and only He can unzip the fibers of reality and intervene.

Continue with us as we join through the wonders of science from a Biblical perspective!
