EARTHQUAKE REMEMBRANCE WALK

17th ANNIVERSARY OF KORT

On 8th October 2022, Kort remembered the victims of the 8th of October 2005 earthquake by holding a Remembrance Walk and prayers for the martyrs in the city of Mirpur AJK.

The earthquake claimed over 80,000 lives and changed the lives of hundreds of thousands more forever.

This remembrance walk is held annually to remember martyrs and show our support to the orphan children who survived the earthquake and found hope at KORT.

Later that evening, the students of KORT organised a celebratory event at the KORT Educational & Residential Complex to mark our 17th anniversary. The event included Quran recitation, nasheeds, speeches, plays, and Qawali by the children in the presence of esteemed guests from around the world including the former Prime Minister of Pakistan and current Speaker of Pakistan National Assembly: Hon Raja Pervaiz Ashraf.

Thank you to all our guests who came to show their support for KORT and boost the morale of the children. Thank you also to our Muskorteers who came from around the world to celebrate our 17th anniversary.
