, a popular song of the 70s, composed by Bobby Caldwell for the superhit album 'What you won't do for love' lyrics. I am sure you guys are wondering why am I taking this song for writing an article on Tarot Cards.
Well! it is simple, as simple as the feeling of love itself, or rather as complex as love can be. I will try to answer the following questions with the help of Tarot cards.
1. Can Tarot deck influence some one's romantic life?
2. How can Tarot help in kindling the feeling of love?
3. What is the comparison between the expression of love and physical attraction with respect to Tarot cards?
4. Can Heart break be deciphered through Tarot cards?
5. Can Tarot cards indicate a person falling in love multiple times?

So goes the first stanza of the song which will go in parallel to our discussion. So what is love? In Tarot culture, love is like the sixth sense common to all human beings. It is influenced by and influences the five senses of the body and mind. A person in love eagerly awaits to enjoy the sense of touch of the partner, yearns for the sight and scent. awaits for beloved soul's intimacy to hear the voice, needless to talk about the sense of taste.
In Tarot culture, the deck with 78 cards is divided into two Arcana. The Major Arcana comprises of 22 cards and can be referred to as destiny cards while the Minor Arcana totals to 56 cards, which is 14 cards each of Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles, beginning from the Aces or the 1s going up to the Kings. The Minor Arcana can also be referred to as the 'Karma cards' or the destiny you create for yourself in the world.
MAJOR ARCANA - PERSONA TAROT CARDS
In my experience, each card of the Major and the Minor arcana has its own unique contribution while interpreting the romance life of an individual. If we start discussing the details, we may need write a whole book to do the same, which certainly is not the purpose of this article, so I will directly jump to the point.
The Lovers card is the 6th card in Major arcana. While there are multiple Tarot decks which have been created since their advent, in modern times, one of the most popular is the Rider-Waite tarot deck. The Love card below is taken from the same deck.
Take a close look at the card, as every inch of the picture will tell you a story. The Number 6 of the card represents victory, achievement or accomplishment of a project. You can see the Garden which can represent the Garden of Eden, with the first human lovers namely Adam and Eve standing on the right and left sides respectively. Above them is the owner of the Garden. Now let us interpret the love card appearing in the Deck, for a querent, who's curious question is about his or her mate. I had mentioned earlier, the love card is a Destiny card and is indicative of your romance angle of life as a reflection of your persona. In Zodiac, it is represented by the Sign of Gemini but we are not taking astrology approach here.
A person, whose spread has this card in prominence in the spread, is indicative of his/her romantic nature. Such a person is always seeking and is generally successful in love. Finding a soul mate may not be very difficult however this kind of a persona is generally seen to be a sacrificing human being . He or she is always ready to please the partner, no matter what ever it takes, and could often end up spending a large amount of their material and emotional wealth to make their lover happy. Such people are used to loving from their heart. They are equally good and committed friends to have.

Oops! this could be not something anybody would like to experience, but sometimes, the environmental factors are not under anyone's control. What is taken as the feeling of love by one partner could be pure infatuation for the other. The Devil card in Tarot deck again has a man and a woman in picture, but this time, the power in the background is not an angel unlike the lovers card, but that of a devil.
Take a look at the card from the Rider-Waite tarot deck and compare the the love card with this card. Love card is No 6 while the Devil card is No 15 which is 1+5=6, so both end up with the key no six here. So what what's so great about it? Well, the point I am trying to make here is that if this card appears on a question related to romance, the aspect of heart break may take over. However- if you deeply observe this card, the man and the woman are loosely chained to each other. Does it mean that their union is purely due to physical attraction between each other, and once the fires of passion are dowsed, the chain will break!
The other aspect of this card appearing throws a possibility that only half of the story is known, the other half is still a unknown, this is very often a reason behind most confrontations between partners- a misunderstanding. A suggestion here if this card appears- spend time with your partner, discuss every point and do not get up before you reach to a consensus. Very often, the issue would be,

Another aspect of Tarot cards is that they were also used to play games historically, with the Minor Arcana being similar to the playing cards, the Cup cards can be related to the Hearts.

TWO OF CUPS
Once again, we have a man and a woman exchanging the cups while looking into each other's eyes. In between them are snakes, wings and Lion head. representing the heroism as well as danger involved in this bonding. Two of Cards is also a representative of sexual attraction, which also leads to bonding. It can also represent potential bonding of ideas, other than just bodies, making the union stronger. A reverse card here may lead to hurdles in a relationship, or un necessary interventions from the divisive forces which could be both from within or outside.
Three of Cups is an indicator of a third person entering this bond, so this card has to be carefully interpreted. It may indicate celebration out of the union in terms of child birth, however it may also indicate in certain cases a third person entering between the two spoiling the relationship, especially if the card appears reversed.

Meditation for love with the help of Tarot cards
Step1
Take the picture of a person you love, we will call him or her the significator. Keep the picture in your hands to warm it up.
Step 2
Take your own picture and place it on the left.
Step 3
Place the Major Arcana Lover card Upright in between. It would be still better if you can make the significator (right) and your picture (left) face each other with the love card in between the two. Speak out the name of your significator.
Step 4
Meditate at the love card and bring positive thoughts in your mind. Use this time to think of the romantic adventures you would like to have with the special person in your thought. It would be like day dreaming The most ideal time to do this is before going to bed in the night time.
Step 5
Once you are done with your mediation, you can light thirteen red candles around the spread such that each candles adds to the positive thought. The candles are just embellishments, to create an aura of romance lighting up the red color. It is not a compulsion. Remember we have to focus on the meditation part rather than making this a ritual.
A word of caution here is - do this meditation in good faith, never attempt to eye on some one's partner as it will not work with a selfish motive.
Nine of Cups Tarot card.
This is also one of a good cards to get in a spread. It is so positive that it usually means to same whether it appears upright or reverse. This card can also be used to meditate on your positive wishes. You have to imagine of a celebration of success wherein every one is happy.
