Arise (Joseph), and take the young child and his mother, and go into the land of Israel: for they are dead which sought the young child’s life.. And he arose, and took the young child and his mother, and came into the land of Israel. But when he heard that Archelaus did reign in Judaea in the room of his father Herod, he was afraid to go thither: notwithstanding, being warned of God in a dream, he turned aside into the parts of Galilee: And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene. – Matthew 2:20-23.

“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. Butter and honey shall he eat, that he may know to refuse the evil, and choose the good.” – Isaiah 7:14-15. Within our own walks of faith, as our understanding of the Gospel grows, we also, should be learning to refuse the evil, and choose the good. As we learn to let go of our lusts, passions, and desires, we begin letting go of the old man as we put more of our trust in the LORD God. It isn’t the easiest thing to do. The LORD tells us this in Luke 5:39, “No man also having drunk old wine straightway desireth new: for he saith, The old is better.” Let us expand more on something stated about the Church in the Book of Acts. “For we have found this man a pestilent fellow, and a mover of sedition among all the Jews throughout the world, and a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes.” Let us look at the original word Nazarite in Hebrew.

The word Nazarite means, to separate, that is, consecrated as a prince or a Nazarite: to hold aloof, to distant ourselves, to withdraw, abstain from food and drink, from impurity, and even from divine worship (that is, apostatize); specifically to set apart to sacred purposes, that is, devote: – consecrate, separate self. Now my friends, take this Biblical journey of discovery with me, as we go deep into the Word of GOD.

We are told this by Paul in the Book of Galatians, “For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law. Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness, Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies, Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God. But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.” – Galatians 5:14-23.

Let us now look at only one word from above, uncleanness. We will look at the original word first and then the root from which the word is derived from.

The word uncleanness means, impurity (the quality), physically or morally, as well as profligate living, imprudent, reckless, irresponsible, prodigal. Let us now go further into the translation as we look at the root of this word.

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now Mine Eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place. For now have I chosen and sanctified this house, that my name may be there for ever: and mine eyes and mine heart shall be there perpetually. And as for thee, if thou wilt walk before me, as David thy father walked, and do according to all that I have commanded thee, and shalt observe my statutes and my judgments; Then will I stablish the throne of thy kingdom, according as I have covenanted with David thy father, saying, There shall not fail thee a man to be ruler in Israel.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14-18.
