The Top Six Ways Christians Negatively Affect Their Own Success

It’s evident today that Christians in America are having less success in life because of their own poor thinking. How a Christian thinks determines his success in life. The Bible says a lot about the mind. For example, Proverbs 23:7 tells us, “For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.” As Christians, we must be careful to preserve and develop godly thinking habits because our thinking habits determine our future. Have you ever thought about how a Christian thinks? What do we think about when we think about our work, our marriage, our fellow men and women, our Money and how we spend it? It is an indisputable fact of life that a person’s success in academic, professional or any other endeavor depends on the inner thought process or the pattern of thinking that governs his life. On the one side, there are those whose character is Christ-oriented while on the other side are those whose attitude towards life is ungodly and unconverted. What then can we say about such people? How can we distinguish one from the other? What is your relationship like with God? That’s the key to Christian success, so let me show you with these six top ways. How We Think Is How We Feel How we think determines how we feel. The way we think and view things is the way we act. We may find ourselves feeling stressed, anxious, upset, and many other negative feelings. But how do we determine what’s going on in our brain that causes us to feel this way? We could go to a therapist or counselor and they will ask us questions, probe us with questions and attempt to gain an understanding on why we feel in a certain way. But, why not take these questions to God and find the answers in His word. It’s all there if you are willing to look for it. How We Think About God Atheists have it all wrong about God. Christians know the power God has given them, but they don’t use it. They think that they’re not worthy of what He’s given them so they never use His power. Is there a difference between knowing about God and knowing God? What if He is not what you think He is? Could it be that you have been thinking about God in all the wrong ways…what if the mind of man has been standing between you and the true power of God? God is all-powerful and can help you with any problem or need you have. Philippians 4:19 tells us that He will supply all our need according to Christ’s riches in glory! How We Think About Money? If you are a Christian, there is a good chance you believe money is evil. It’s not.  Jesus never said it was. The Bible actually tells us God wants us to prosper, but only if we are pursuing Him, and our motives are in line with His will. The Bible is clear on how we should handle money, but it’s not what you might think. In fact, the way we are taught to think about money is often all wrong. When it comes to our finances, one of the most important questions that we should be asking is why do Christians think about money the way we do? Is it biblical? What’s the Biblical view on wealth and money? “For the love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.” 1 Timothy 6:10 (NIV). It’s not money itself, but the love of it which means if you would do anything to get it no matter who you hurt. How We Think About Stress? But why is it so hard to be relaxed when we’re in the middle of a stressful situation? More importantly, how do we truly let Jesus carry our burdens when we have so much stress in our lives? There is stress in our life. We cannot get away from that, because we are human. Stress comes from problems. It happens in our daily lives and it confronts us every now and then. Every Christian has to cope with stress; the question is how do we cope with stress as Christians? How we think about stress has been drummed into us through media for years. Your job stresses you out. Your girlfriend’s incessant texting so stresses you that you stress out all night and don’t sleep. You need to be more “stress-free” they tell us on a commercial break. The bible says to trust God and let Jesus carry your burdens. We, as Christians are to trust, not stress. How We Think About Financial Deficit? When we think about our financial deficit, most of us immediately jump to the negative thoughts. No money at all or not enough money and these can easily be translated into debt. But there is another point of view one that is just as possible. To have an unlimited flow of money so much so that you could live without working a day in your life. How we think about money could be a deciding factor in how we live.  We can either spend beyond our means or not spend beyond it.  It’s really that simple. The amount of debt you have determines how much you can save and therefore how much you’ll have in the future. You don’t have to live in debt because once you start thinking differently about credit cards, paying off debt becomes easier and easier.  As long as you are willing to make the sacrifices today, your tomorrow will be brighter. Stop buying on credit and pay more than the minimum on your credit cards to get them paid off quicker. If you debt is huge you can use a debt reduction company to help you get things paid off for a lesser amount. Remember that God says to owe no man anything except love! How We Think About The Power Christians Have? The word of God is powerful and we should use it to live successful lives. But how often do we stop to consider the power we have at our disposal? We all have a responsibility as Christians to do good things in this world. This article will help you see and narrow your focus on what really matters in this life. Paul says that our fight is not against flesh and blood, but power systems that oppose God (see Ephesians 6:12). God’s word is powerful. His word can move mountains, heal sick people and deliver oppressed people. He gave us the power to get out of the debt that we cannot pay by decreeing a release. It is up to us to use this power of God to get things done in our lives and for our households. Power, willingness, and faith walk together in order for us to achieve success. Faith is an integral part of the way we should live because it defines our beliefs and intentions. Do you believe that God can use you to do great things? Do you have power in your life? It seems like the answer is obvious. Of course, He does, and of course, we do! Get in His word and learn how God operates and expects you to operate as well. We are not to just accept things as they are but trust God for them to be better.
