- You Will Rejoice Again

"When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream. Then was our mouth filled with laughter..." (Psalm 126:1-2)

In the above Psalm, David via the help of the Spirit was teaching us how things work with God. Contrary to what we may have believed for years, he wasn't solely speaking of Israel's release from Eygpt but of every release the children of the Most High will ever experience. And that includes yours. Today.

He says "then said they among the heathen, The LORD has done great things for them." (v. 2). And that "they that sow in tears shall reap in joy." (v. 5). The sowing in tears refers to our being patient and trusting, such that we keep holding to God even when losing grip of all that pertains to a good life. Because as David also insinuated, when God shows up, the stranger will wish they were us.

Now you'd notice that this Psalm was written before the Babylonian captivity, yet it was exactly what was predicted to happen by another prophet when it was about to occur. Zechariah said "Thus says the LORD of hosts; It shall yet come to pass, that there shall come people, and the inhabitants of many cities...In those days it shall come to pass that ten men shall take hold out of all languages of the nations, even shall take hold of the skirt of him that is a Jew, saying, We will go with you: for we have heard that God is with you." (Zechariah 8:20-23). Same thing as said by David. Strangers praising and yearning for God all because of all they'd see in us. So, if it happened then, the same will happen now. You will become a point of reference for great things very soon.

You may been going through dreadful times, but very soon you shall smile again. Why? Because you are an inhabitant of Zion, and in Zion it is said of you that no horrible thing shall remain (Isaiah 33:24). Plus you are Jew in spirit by virtue of Christ's finished work, so this testimony is just as much yours as it is any other believer's.

So cheer up, your time is coming. Your sun is rising. And when that does happen, you will see it. The onlookers will as well, and give glory to God in your behalf. God has promised to send you out of the pit you presently might be in and deliver you back to the place of strength, granting you double for all your troubles, even today (Zechariah 9:11-12).

All you need to do at this point is stay believing. Don't concentrate on the negative signs before you, focus on the Word of the Lord given to you today. This Word you've just seen for yourself. Focus on that, and wholeheartedly own the truth that in this world you shall Rejoice again. For you shall. I'll be there to see it, you'll be there to live it, and together we shall all rejoice because of what the Lord has done. But first, believe, delighting yourself in this truth; and once that's done your possibilities will be limitless (Psalm 37:4).

Again, I don't know what you may be passing through right now, but trust me this is the best chance you've got. You need to trust God, and stay trusting Him. See Him as enough and you'd have more than enough, both in this life and in the life to come. Let this be your foreword from this day forward: "Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation. The Lord God is my strength and He will make my feet like hinds feet, and He will make me to walk upon my high places..." (Habakkuk 3:17-19). Hallelujah!!!
