Govardhan Puja 2020: Govardhan Puja in India is celebrated on the next day of Diwali. Through this Blog, you would know the real meaning of Govardhan Puja, its story, and Arti. You would also know if Shri Krishna is happy with Govardhan Puja, and how we can make ourselves happy. So, read till the end.

Govardhan Puja Meaning

Govardhan Puja is a Hindi term that means “worship of Govardhan hill.” Govardhan is the name of a hill associated with an incident during the life of Shri Krishna Ji in Dwaparyuga about which you’ll read in a while. ‘Puja’ means ‘worship’. Although, worshipping Govardhan hill has no meaning in the spiritual context. It is completely arbitrary.

Govardhan Puja 2020 Date

This year Govardhan Puja 2020 is on November 15, 2020, on Sunday. Govardhan Puja is celebrated in the month of Kartik according to the Hindu calendar. It is the first lunar day of Shukla Paksha in the Vikram Samvat Hindu calendar.

Govardhan Puja Story

The story behind Govardhan Puja is that once in Vrindavan when Shri Krishna was there, he taught people of Vrindavan not to worship Indra Deva or any other deity. These demigods cannot give you anything other than your Karmas. Only worship The Supreme God. Following Shri Krishna, villagers stopped performing the worship of Indra Deva. This made Indra Deva furious upon the villagers of Vrindavan. Indra Deva has 96 crores Meghmala. Each Meghmala has one crore clouds. If he drops 1 Meghmala on earth, the entire earth can flood. Angry Indra dropped 1 Meghmala on Vrindavan. Then, the people of Vrindavan faced heavy floods.

Shri Krishna came forward. To ensure the safety of the villagers, he lifted a hill on the little finger of his right hand so that everybody could take shelter under the hill. Shri Krishna lifted the Govardhan hill continuously for seven days and seven nights. To mark this, today’s ignorant Hindu Gurus ask people to worship Govardhan hill.

In Maharashtra, the same day is celebrated as Bali Pratipada or Bali Padva. This Day celebrates the victory of Vamana, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, over King Bali and subsequent pushing of Bali to Patal lok (nether world). It is believed that due to the boon given by Lord Vamana, Asura (Demon) King Bali visits the Prithvi Lok (earth) from the Patal Lok on this day.

Does Shri Krishna Approve Of Performing Govardhan Puja?

Shri Krishna lifted Govardhan hill to make people worship only The Supreme God and no one else. It is such a grave misfortune that credulous people believing ignorant priests started worshipping Govardhan hill itself. Shri Krishna doesn’t approve of worshipping Govardhan hill. There is not a single Shlok in the entire Holy Geeta Ji asking devotees to worship Govardhan hill. The only reason people worship it is the ignorant religious leaders of Hinduism, who being themselves unaware of the truth, misled the whole Hindu society.

Govardhan Puja Arti

Govardhan Puja 2020: On this day, Annakut Utsav 56 delicacies are prepared to offer Govardhan hill. Unboiled milk, homemade sweets, bathe, etc are offered to the hill Govardhan. Devotees apply Roli Akshat (uncooked rice) to the hill. Making a miniature hill using cow dung or mud, and decorating it with flowers, people worship that. Some devotees go to the Govardhan hill to worship it — this is not a correct way of worship. This kind of Govardhan Puja Aarti is not mentioned in our Holy Scriptures. Performing such Govardhan Puja Aarti does not lead us to attain complete salvation.

Can Govardhan Puja Make You Happy?

Never can worshipping any hill or other materialistic things can make you happy. You attain happiness as a result of your virtuous deeds of your previous births. You attain sorrows as a result of your unrighteous deeds (sins) of your previous births. The result of your past deeds (Karmas) cannot be altered by any worship other than that of The Supreme God as is mentioned in the Holy Gita Adhyay 18 Shlok 66,

Sarvdharmaan, parityajya, maam, ekam, sharnam, vraj,

Aham, tva, sarvpaapebhyaH, mokshyishyaami, ma, shuchH ||66||

Translation: The Supreme God in whose refuge it has been directed to go in Gita Adhyay 18 Shlok 62, regarding Him only is said in this Shlok 66 too that (Mam) my (sarvdharmaan) all the religious practices (parityajya) relinquishing (ekam) of that one unique i.e. Complete God (sharnm) in the refuge (vraj) go (aham) I (tva) you (sarvpaapebhyaH) from all the sins (mokshyishyaami) will release, you (ma, shuchH) do not grieve. (66)

Meaning: Relinquishing all my religious practices in me, you go in the refuge of only that one unique i.e. Complete God. I will release you from all the sins. You do not grieve.

The Knowledge-giver of Gita Ji is Kaal. He is the father of the Hindu Trinity. In the above-written Shlok, he directs us to take the shelter of The Supreme God. Then, he will release us from all the sins. This is how we can become happy.

In Holy Gita Adhyay 8 Shlok 8, the knowledge-giver of Gita says that The Supreme God is attainable only by undivided devotion, i.e., when we do not worship any other deity, etc. In Holy Gita Adhyay 7 Shlok 12 to 15, it is clearly mentioned that those who worship the trinity Shri Brahma Ji, Shri Vishnu Ji, Shri Shiv Ji can never attain Salvation. These three gods keep the souls entangled in Karma.

Holy Gita Adhyay 16 Shlok 23 and 24 state that those who practice according to their own whims neither attain happiness nor attain salvation, nor any accomplishment, and, thus, it is totally useless.

There is no mention of worshiping Govardhan hill in our Holy Books. It is opposite to the injunctions of our Holy Scriptures. Therefore, rather than worshipping the Govardhan hill, worship The Supreme God alone.

How to Worship The Supreme God?

As per Holy Gita Adhyay 16 Shlok 23 and 24 way of worship against the injunctions of Holy Books is totally useless. So, there is a Scripture-based way of worshipping The Supreme God.

Holy Bhagavad Gita Adhyay 4 Shlok 34 directs us to take the Shelter of a Tatvadarshi Saint to know the complete Spiritual Knowledge. Gita Adhyay 15 Shlok 1 to 4 state the identity of a tatvadarshi Saint that he will define every part of the upside-down world-like tree. This identity fits on The Supreme God Kabir who had explained those parts in His KabirVani 600 years ago,

Kabir, Akshar purush ek ped hai, Niranjan vaki daar|

Teenu deva sakha hain, Paat roop sansaar||

Readers, today this identity fits on The Supreme God Kabir’s current Manifestation Supreme Saint Rampal Ji,

This should not take any longer for you to realize that Saint Rampal Ji only is The Tatvadarshi Saint mentioned in the Holy Gita Who knows the Complete Spiritual Knowledge and the way to get one’s soul salvaged. He knows and tells that way to get your sins destroyed and be forever happy by attaining the complete Salvation in Satlok which is mentioned as Naishkarmya Sidhi in Holy Gita Adhyay 18 Shlok 65.

After reading and realizing this Blog, kindly don’t do any late and take initiation from Him as soon as possible. Respected Saint GaribDas Ji says,

Vakhat pade sauda kare, Kothe daare gyaan||
