Dreams about dead relatives is of common occurrence. There are people who constantly see their deceased loved ones in their dreams, even to the point such dreams become normal to them. This is not supposed to be.
We all have loved ones and when they pass away, dreams about them being alive may start coming, even to the extent of such becoming recurring. But the enemy might also find a foothold here, if we are not careful.
Is Dreaming About the Dead Biblical?
The Bible does not say much about dreaming about the deceased being right or wrong, but we do have a clue concerning what it says from a couple of scriptures. One of such is Ecclesiastes 9:5.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 KJVFor the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten.
Something does not always feel right about seeing the dead in the dream. Solomon made it clear in the book of Ecclesiastes that the dead knows nothing; they are asleep and hence we should have no business to do with them.
There is also no reason why the dead would leave their resting place to disturb the living in their sleep. So that further tells us that a lot is wrong with seeing these kind of dreams.
Does God Speak To Us Through Dead Relatives?
God is not limited to just one way of communicating with us. There are so many means through which He does that. But one of them is not through the dead. He is God of the living and not of the dead.
Mark 12:27 KJVHe is not the God of the dead, but the God of the living: ye therefore do greatly err.
There are too many credible means through which God can speak to us, and He will never resort to doing that through dead people.
This is just for those who think God is sending them messages through their deceased family members in their dreams. You are being deceived.
The Lord even frowned at Saul for consulting the witch of En Dor and asking her to summon the deceased Prophet Samuel, so he could speak to him (1 Samuel 28:7). He frowned at the practice of inquiring information of the dead:
Deuteronomy 18:10-12 KJVThere shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch, [11] Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer. [12] For all that do these things are an abomination unto the Lord : and because of these abominations the Lord thy God doth drive them out from before thee.
We should therefore desire not to speak with the dead (whether asleep or awake). To rebuke such dreams is to be on the safe side.
Dream Meaning About Dead Relatives
Demons like to masquerade as late relatives to visit people through dreams. Do not be deceived by dreams where a dead Relative shows up and claims to deliver a message from God or tells you something accurate about your life.
This is actually one major means through which familiar spirits establish connections with people. This is what many worship as ancestors.
The spirit of death also likes to take the form of dead relatives to meet people in their dreams. Such dreams must be rebuked and every connection with the spirit of death severed.
Dreams where one has constant communication with their dead relatives should be rebuked and cancelled.
If you have such dreams, pray and ask the Lord to enable you rebuke the one appearing as your late relative right there in the dream! You might be surprised to see them manifest their true form if you rebuke them—further proving they are not your dead loved ones.
Recurring Dreams About Dead People
Having recurring dreams about seeing dead people is not only disturbing but also a pointer to the fact that the enemy has planned death and launched forth the spirit of death against the dreamer.
There is nothing good about dreaming about seeing oneself living, eating, walking with or doing anything at all with the dead.
There is need to fast, pray and rebuke the spirit of death if such dreams seem to be recurring.
Prayer Points Against Dead Relatives Dream
- By the authority of Jesus Christ I bind and return to the pit of Hell, you spirit of death sent against me in Jesus Name.
- I rebuke and destroy recurring demonic dreams about the dead off my dream life in Jesus Name.
- By the power of the Holy Spirit, I cut every existing connection with the deceased off my life. From now henceforth they shall not be able to make contact with me anymore in Jesus Mighty Name.
- By the blood of Jesus Christ I cancel every death sentence released against me, my family and my loved ones in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ! Amen.
