Azhagar Sitthar Temple Thenambakkam Cuddalore Temple Timings, Information. Azhagar Siddar Temple located in Thennampakkam, a village near Pondicherry. 20 Kms away from Pondicherry and 17 Kms away from Cuddalore. as per legend soruces temple built 600 years when azhagiya siddar reached thennampakkam and attained soulful meditation.

Sri Azhagar Sithar Swami Temple History

Azhagar Siddar temple is purely hindu temple. it is dedicated to Azhagar Swamy Siddhar. as per legends sources 400 years ago, a siddar called Azhagar swamy reached Thennampakkam and was living near Azhagar sitthar temple. He said to have cured diseases occurred to the villages effectively. He attained his jeeva samadhi in the temple well. Later local villagers built Azhagar Sitthar temple in memory of him. he temple is open from 7 am to noon and from 6 to 9 pm. The temple’s origin is linked to that of Shri Azhagar Siddhar.

The poorvasrama (the early part of his life) of this Mahan were not known. Sri Azhagar Temple management also organise all accommodation, booking facilities. There was a well and a banyan tree in the midst of a grove of Vilva trees. He sat there and was meditating. For bath, he used to enter the well and slept below the banyan tree.

Sri Azhagar Sithar Swami Temple Timings

Sri Azhagar Siddar temple having three 3 Sanctums. Muni, Lord shiva and Azhagar Swamy siddhar jeeva Samadhi. Azhagar Swamy siddhar jeeva samadi situated at the backside of the temple. The Shrine is believed to be built on top of a well. Siddar swamyji temple is situated amidst banyan trees. local people popularize words, if any one pray here for wishes and once their wishes are fulfilled, they have to buy and keep stucco image respective to their prayer. Devotees from all around the place has tied a bunch of letters to the Sword of Lord Ayyanar, after worshiping to Azhagar/Alagar Siddhar or Saint, to seek his favor to fulfill their wishes written in it. Once their wishes have been fulfilled, they visit the temple once again and to place an small Idol or Toy symbolizing their gratitude.

Timings: The Temple remains open from morning 06:00 am in the mornings till 08:00 am in the evenings.
